High in the Laurel Highlands mountains, a mansion sits overlooking the stars. With views of the mountains, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, and all surrounding land, it is the epitome of privacy, serenity and beauty. There are 9 spacious bedrooms and 3 large bathrooms. A large outdoor swimming pool with attached deck is the perfect spot to catch some rays (open Memorial Day to Labor Day), and the hill below is the ideal location for winter sled riding. This property is dog friendly.* Additional flat fee will be charged per pet, if necessary, after receiving your signed Rental Agreement. Enjoy a hike through the woods located behind the home, enjoy the outdoor swing, overlooking the mountains, with your morning coffee and a good book! The home is conveniently located close by to all local attractions, such as Ohiopyle State Park to enjoy hiking, white water rafting or electric bike rentals; Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Laurel Caverns, Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, Yough Lake and more!

Nice house with needs that can easily be fixed.

As a whole, we enjoyed the roominess of the home, the hot tub, the location and the catering provided by Christine. However, there were several items that need to be addressed - blinds in several areas including the first-level bedrooms, several doors particularly around the porch areas didn’t lock or were missing, missing porch windows, ice-maker didn’t work, left front stove burner didn’t work, ant infestation in kitchen, limited porch furniture, doorless storage area upon 1st level entry and hard to control temperature on the 1st level.

Underwhelming

Property a bit outdated from what the write-up showed. A number of issues overall on the property: > Mold in closet in downstairs king bedroom > Roof leaking in gameroom, used a pot to capture water > Top step coming up to the main floor a bit higher than the other steps, need to be careful with older and younger guests, had one fall during week > Plastic liner on shower in off the TV room was missing, just curtain > Window in downstairs king leaked in on our suitcase > several of the electrical outlets did not work > Back patio pavers not stable, all moved around and tough for some of our guests walking out to the porch > Offered early check in and late check out but then wanted to pay extra after paying for the weekend. Looking for 30 minutes on both sides and would not just allow. Worked well for our group with number of bedrooms and plenty of room for the families to spread out but just a bit outdated.

Family fun

Four generations getting together for family fun. The pool was great. Good location for exploring Ohiopyle. Many of the electrical outlets didn’t work. Very inconvenient with all the phones, iPads, etc. that needed charging. Slats on the bunk bed not the right length. My granddaughter fell when one of the slats slipped out. She got a nasty bruise.

We enjoyed our family trip. The house was very clean. There were a few things that needed updating but all in all it was great for our family. It had the right amount of bedrooms and privacy. Grand kiddos loved the new pool!

Great place for large gatherings

We had our annual family reunion at this house. Enough room for everyone to spread out and have their own space. Everything was very clean. The only issue was when we booked we were told there were 2 pull out couches but when we got there it was just regular couches. Also, The screws for the fuseball table were missing on the handles. The communication with the owners/property managers was excellent.

Large house, great views

This house is very large and accommodated several families. It was a good jumping off point for several things in the area and we comfortable to stay in when we didn't go out. We didn't really use the kitchen as we ate out most days.

Great to be together!

There was room for everyone. Places for togetherness or solitude. Lots of fun and singing around the fire out back. Plenty of dishes silverware, pots and pans etc. Plenty to do in the area. It was a fine week!

This property was fine for our family of 14. There were more than enough dishes silverware glassware pots and pans. We did bring along four large bowels which were frequently needed. One thing that I must mention was that the lower level was very cold, try as we did to adjust the air conditioning. That being said, it was only used for sleeping and there was plenty of comfortable bedding. The decking area is rough and old and could use some attention. We had a great time exploring the area, playing games, reading, swimming, and, yes singing around our campfire!

Property needs updating and fixing, decks were in rough shape, dangerous in spots. Stove had a none working burner Parts missing from hot tub. No cookware for microwave. Missing parts in game room games.Damaged counter top and door knobs.

Wonderful!

We had a large group of girls from our college ministry on an annual retreat, and we had the BEST time! Everything was as pictured/listed, sleeping was comfortable. They provided us plenty of extra linens for our extra guests. Space was perfect for our needs. We had some issues with heating downstairs but someone came right away to help us, and the problem was fixed. Overall a wonderful, restful stay!

Great weekend with a great group

Spacious Home for Thanksgiving Family Gathering

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our large family group enjoyed the spacious house with proximity to parks and other attractions. The furniture was comfy and there were enough separate areas to keep 3 generations happy. Management arranged for us to have a folding table and chairs for additional seating for our Thanksgiving dinner (as the table could only seat 10 people). With 9 bedrooms and only 3 baths, there was a great lack of towel racks and clothing hooks in bathrooms or rooms. Also no coat racks or hooks in the mudroom entry area. Since we cooked in, we appreciated having plenty of plates, glasses, mugs and silverware. We did miss having any salad or mixing bowls, hot pads or trivets for hot dishes, and sufficient sharp knives. We enjoyed playing air hockey in the bright sunny game room, but could find no foosballs and so sadly we could not use that game table at all. The hot tub was large and great, with plenty of beach towels. However, there was no outdoor light that worked in the hot tub area.Overall we enjoyed our stay, but it could have been even better with a few fixes.

Plenty of room. House needs some TLC.

The house had plenty of room for our family but there were a few issues. The sunroom has a roof leak, the upper oven needs cleaned because it was smoking a lot, and we could not connect to the WIFI after many calls for the password. There were nails sticking up on the deck boards and the sliding door from the sunroom needs fixed as people were getting their fingers pinched trying to close it. Also the lock on the lower entrance is very loose. Beds were comfortable.

The kitchen was lacking some items - when we arrived there weren't any trash bags, but there was one roll of paper towels. The kitchen doesn't have any medium-large mixing bowls (to make scrambled eggs, etc). It only had one hot plate and no oven mitts! We went to Dollar General and bought 2 oven mitts and left them in the drawer next to the sink. The only other issue we had was that A LOT of outlets didn't work. Kitchen outlets, as well as bedroom outlets. We made it work, but I know I had to use hallway outlets to charge baby monitors because many in the bedroom didn't work. The AC stopped working on the 2nd day we were there, but when I called, your maintenance team took care of it very quickly. We were very pleased with that service, so thank you. We are very pleased with the cleanliness. The couch in the living room (connected to the sunroom) seemed new, or in very good condition. The seating in that room was especially appreciated, as we gathered in that room often with the kids. Overall, we had a wonderful visit and appreciate a clean, big rental with the amenities that Mountain View Lodge had to offer (pool and hot tub were great!)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: High marks generally except for upkeep. The furnishings including electronics, WiFi, and kitchen are perfectly fine. The decor just seems a little bit outdated. The outdoor decks (which do have marvelous views) and the pool are in poor condition; although, they are very clean including the pool water. We were only a small group of six guys with no interest in cooking but it seemed this is an ideal spot/house for a large family gathering. It would be nice to have a little more coffee to start off the visit. The noise ordinance and fine is a bit intimidating but shouldn’t be a worry if you act as if you are at your own home. It was a little ironic however to be awoken at 6:30 a.m. by a neighbor’s tractor backup alarm, well before the 9:00 am curfew. All in all the house served our biking purposes really well and thanks to Christina at OVR for helping us.

Great Stay

Overall it was a great property. It was well kept and clean. We did have an issue with keep the refrigerator cold but other than that no real issues. Very peaceful and quite. I would recommend to a big group because we had plenty of space to enjoy one another. We enjoyed the pool as well.
