And, if you're lucky, you just may see moose, elk, buffalo and other wildlife wandering around the neighborhood or taking a nap on the lawn.
Jackson Hole is a lovely valley that is approximately 40 miles long and 15 miles wide, bordered to the west by the stunning Grand Tetons and on the east by the Gros Ventre mountains. Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club boasts an award-winning 18-golf course, restaurant and bar, and is open to the public. The Jackson Hole valley abounds with activities and amenities every season of the year. In the summer you can take a scenic or whitewater raft trip down the Snake River, hike in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and the adjacent national forests, fly-fish for rainbow and cutthroat trout, mountain and road bike on hundreds of miles of pathways and trails, canoe, kayak, sail, paddle board, hang-glide, swim, golf, play tennis, and the list goes on. In the winter enjoy some of the world's best downhill skiing and snowboarding at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (17 miles), Snow King Mountain Resort (8 miles), and Grand Targhee Resort (approximately one hour away on the Idaho side of the mountains). You can also cross-country ski, snowmobile, take a sleigh onto the National Elk Refuge and help feed 8,000 elk, dogsled, or relax in a spa or hot spring. All year long you can view our world-famous wildlife, visit great museums such as the National Museum of Wildlife Art, explore art galleries, dine at wonderful restaurants and bars, and attend outstanding cultural events including plays, concerts, dance performances, art fairs, festivals, and more.

About the host
Hosted by Patty McDonald

I was born in Michigan, lived in England and Switzerland as a child, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in journalism. After college I spent four summers working as a backcountry ranger in Grand Teton National Park, and the intervening winters as a reporter and photographer for the local newspaper, and as the marketing manager at Grand Targhee Ski Area. I then moved to Washington, DC, where I worked on Capitol Hill, at the Interior and Labor Departments, as a lobbyist for western ranchers and the ski industry, and headed up my own consulting business. After retirement I moved back to Jackson Hole where I got married and now enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, golfing, cross-country skiing, country western dancing, travelling abroad, and volunteering in the community.
