Excellent rental in old Veliko Tărnovo
This three bedroom house is a really good rental In a 200-year-old home that is totally modernized. There is also an office space in the hallway outside of the bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs as well . The kitchen area is very large and well equipped. Cooking basics are available as well as all of the essential cooking tools. It was a bit irritating to find that the coffee making was restricted to a capsule type machine, and capsules were provided, but the owner wanted a one Euro payment for using them. An alternative to the system would be preferable (eg a French press, etc). There is a dishwasher, freezer, refrigerator, and clothes washing machine. The living room area is quite nice and there is good lighting from windows in every space of the house except for the half bath downstairs off the living area . The main bedroom upstairs has a small balcony, and there is also a small patio off of the living area downstairs. There is one parking spot off the street in front of the house. While it is not hard to find this house, if you are driving, it is a bit tricky to navigate the steep, narrow streets to get to it. It can be nerve-racking. That said, the location of the house is very good and central to anything you would want to do in the historic center of town. Also, when we arrived it was very warm in town. The house was really warm. Stifling. While air-conditioning is advertised in the listing, it is actually controlled remotely by the owner. It never got as cool in the house as we would’ve liked it to be, and sleeping was a bit difficult the first nights because of that. One member in our group ended up sleeping on the floor in the living room, because it was the coolest there. Apparently, they are in the process of continuing to update the air conditioning system giving the limitations that exist on having units on the exteriors of historic houses. When the weather cooled down after the rain started one day temperature was no longer an issue. We would, however, stay here again. Overall it was quite nice.

Beautiful house, beautiful city
The house is an old part of the city, down narrow winding streets that barely have room for one car. It makes getting in and out by car exciting, but once you are in a lot of places are just a short, and beautiful, walk away. We stayed four nights as part of a larger exploration of Bulgaria, and that’s not nearly enough just for the places you can walk to from this house. You could easily spend two weeks here just exploring this corner of what is definitely one of the more beautiful cities in the world.
