This property is a perfect location for Mt. Access! We enjoy the quiet neighborhood of Moonstone! Communication with property management was excellent! We would highly recommend a family or couple to ck this property out!

Nice, quiet place to stay
We stayed for two nights and treated this as a relaxing retreat. The cabin is nicely furnished, very clean, the beds are comfortable, plenty of clean towels, a nicely equipped kitchen, great hot tub. The only issue, which is not the owner’s fault, is that the water pressure in the showers is super low. Otherwise, a great stay!

Wonderful vacation, destination!
We absolutely love this home and vacation spot to spend our time. The only thing I regret is not booking more days. It is so close to the Alpine zoo. I have little ones so we were able to walk there and enjoy the day. It’s about a five minute drive to so many shops and restaurants and coffee shops. The home is immaculate and the beds are so comfortable. We absolutely loved going into the hot tub that was very clean. They’ve thought of everything at this home and it is so accommodating. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

Stay in Big Bear
House was nice & located within a few minutes to most activities. Very nice den with plenty of sitting for everyone. Deck and fenced backyard was nice area for dog. The jacuzzi was clean & very nice to sit in at end of day. The only little thing was the back shower wasn't working but, this did not ruin our stay. We would stay again without hesitation.

Liked: Communication
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The place was quaint, the host was great. The property is a bit outdated. The smell was very off putting, like an old Las Vegas motel, I have asthma so it was difficult. Furniture dinghy and cob webs everywhere. It served its purpose but would not stay again.
This is a nice property. The bathrooms have been remodeled. The sheets and towels were like hotel. There is a newer hot tub on a very large deck. Large family room with a sectional sofa that was perfect fpe lounging and playing the Wii they had, old school memories. It was quiet and perfect for a week get away.
My mom and I stayed at this property for a multi-day event that took place down the street. The house was well equipped and clean. They are clearly experienced with the needs of guests as there were extra amenities in all the areas where they might be needed. We were particularly pleased with the kitchen as it truly met all of our needs. As it turnes our we had to cook a very large meal to take to our event one night and weren't sure how we were going to pull it off. The house could clearly hold far more people than just us two but we loved having the ability to spread out and each have our own full bathroom. The checkin/out process was easy and clear. The touch pad lock was much appreciated, so easy. Thanks for a great stay, we'll be back next year and we hope this property will be available.
Overall it was good. A few concerns though. Windows with broken locks, open windows that we couldn't shut & blinds we couldn't open. Dust. The usual surfaces are dusted but things like bathroom light fixtures, shutter door near back bathroom knickknacks/fireplace mantle, etc. I think it is just time for a deep clean & not just the quick turnover between guest clean. I tend to notice the excessive dust because it triggers my asthma so for most not an issue.

Perfect Getaway!
My husband and I LOVED staying here. It had everything we needed and then some. The home was very clean and kept us nice and warm. We didn't get to use the hot tub this time around, but we hope to return and enjoy it another time. We especially loved the location and the large family room was our favorite by far. Close to everything but far enough away to feel that it was a private, perfect sanctuary.

Well Located, Dirty Abode
The photos are old. Go in knowing you’re getting the basics, 2 furnished bedrooms, a kitchen, and 2 living/family rooms. However, they recently remodeled one of the bathrooms and I will admit it was nice despite the shower hot and cold options being reversed. Second, the layout is weird and the house is creepy. The back half of the house is an addition which was smart, but it wasn’t well executed. In the hall separating the two bedrooms, there’s ladder-stairs leading to a locked hatch in the roof. There’s a crack between the hatch door and the ceiling through which you can see stickers and decoration on the walls if you’re standing on the floor and looking up at the right angle. Pair that with the fact that you’d hear creaks from the “locked” attic, and the house is nestled between what appears to be 2 abandoned houses, and it was like we were living our own low budget version of Parasite. Third, the place is dirty. I mean DIRTY! Remnants of past visitors abound: spills on doors and door frames, the fireplace screen was full of grime, the ceiling fans and some of the lights are caked with dust, and there was lint or something on the floors. It was a mess, and I’d really like to know what the cleaning crew is doing for the astronomical per stay cleaning fee considering that in one of the communications they ask you to strip down the beds and place everything in a pile along with a host of other chores before you leave. Fourth, the hot tub was disgusting and low in water. It’s like they don’t check or clean the thing, and as something I was most looking forward to it was disappointing to use it once during our 3 night stay. It just felt like I was sitting in strangers' dirty bath water. YACK! So this brings me to my last and final issue, the communication with the management team. The ROKU to watch live TV did not work. We switched out batteries, we rebooted the system (as we were told to do) and still it did not work. They went from offering to send someone out to fix the issue (when it was convenient for them) to just dropping batteries off. It didn’t work. She did follow-up, but I never received a response to my text back informing that it still did not work. I sent an email requesting extended check out the evening before our scheduled departure and received a text at 7:50am declining because they needed time to clean for the next group. The text included a list of chores required of us. I did my best to make the most of our stay, and it's getting two stars because I like the location of the cabin in relation to everything else, but to you, fellow vacationer, I say there's better places that are less creepy so I suggest you RUN!!

Response from VrboOwner on 10 May 2022
Hi Cassandra, we’re sorry your stay fell short of expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- Our location is a prime spot in Big Bear and is nestled between rows of vacation homes, not abandoned houses.
- I strive to maintain the property and am slowly updating it. The attic space you are referring to is a personal space for our kids. It is their little hideaway, thus the stickers on the walls. It is locked from guests since they do leave toys up there sometimes.
- I apologize for the dust on the fans. They are in each room in the cabin and see a lot of use during the summer, especially with the heat and fires in the area causing more dust.
- Our cleaners aim to wipe down all surfaces for every check-in to ensure the cleanliness of the cabin. I've told them to check the fans for dust.
- I apologize that the water in the spa was low. It is always cleaned in between guests, so I can assure you the water was clean, but if the cover is left off, the water can evaporate quickly during the hot summer months.
- I wish you had told me about the spa issues when you reached out about the remote so we could have taken care of it too.
- I apologize if my communication was not satisfactory. I called several times to check on the remote and left voicemails too. I didn't receive any texts or calls back to clarify if it was working after the batteries were delivered.
- All TVs in the cabin have direct access to streaming, so if one is not working, you are free to use the others.
- We did find the remote to be working after your stay.
- As for the late check-out, we provide communication before check-in requesting that we avoid late check-outs so that our cabin can be thoroughly cleaned for the next guests, so I did have to decline your request.
- I didn't receive the email earlier enough to get a response out, so I texted you early in the morning so my response would be timely.
- It is standard for all vacation rentals in Big Bear to have guests take the trash to the dumpsites, as it is policy, so I always remind guests upon check-out. I apologize if this caught you off guard.
- We will take note of all the things you mentioned in your review and will strive to improve the cabin.
Thanks for letting us know about your stay!

We loved this cabin! Beautifully decorated and it was a wonderful deck and yard for pups (or kiddos). The cabin had all the right touches. Located in Moonridge, so you have peace and quiet, but you still have access to downtown and the trails. Jennifer, who manages the property, is very responsive (on a holiday weekend no less) and it was clear that her team took COVID-19 seriously. It was immaculately cleaned and had a very pleasant smell when we arrived. You can't go wrong with this beautiful mission-styled mountain retreat! I loved that the house was ranch-style. I have come to learn that one-level homes are much easier if you have dogs or kids. The layout is very well-appointed for family time!

Exactly what we were looking for
Just a short drive from the lake, my family and I arrived at this very cozy and warm place to stay. The house was well kept and we found everything we needed. This was exactly what we were looking for and more.
Could be a great cabin but is in need of a good deep cleaning and general home maintenance.
My family loves visiting the Big Bear area. We will continue to visit but will not be returning to this cabin without a few changes and a good deep cleaning of the house.
Arrival at the cabin and check-in went smoothly and with great ease. Unfortunately, after parking and exiting our vehicle we were greeted with a bag of dog poop on the sidewalk leading to the front door. There was additional trash on the ground including a lighter, receipt, and plastic debris. The front fence was knocked over and the rear yard gate was only propped up and not fastened.
Entering the cabin we were met with a stale musty smell and needed to open the windows and eventually purchase air freshener. The layout works and the house is big enough but the pictures aren't current. The pictures posted on the website appear to be the images from the home listing when the house was for sale in 2017. This unfortunately gives you the impression the house is nicer then it actually is.
Additionally, the house was very grimy and it was evident it had not been thoroughly cleaned for sometime. There was pet hair on the area rugs and floor and long black hair throughout the house, on the floors, walls, and in the beds. The kitchen cabinets were in disarray and the pots, pans, and plates were still greasy and smelled of cooked oil. The kitchen was not stocked with condiments as stated and the tea kettle had stale, standing water in it and was dirty.
As the kids were exploring the house they discovered the loft area where the ladder between the bedrooms led to. I checked out the loft prior to the kids and noticed the floor was covered in a layer of dust and the attic access was ajar and the board was placed on there backwards. This placement exposed the sharp end of about a dozen nails. Unfortunately, the kids were not allowed up there after that.
Lastly, communication with Jen was lacking. We had to contact her due to the oven not working. Although she was professional her responses were slow and eventually didn't respond to my wife's last email. She tried to send a handyman over to fix the oven but we were gone and they couldn't get in. However, the next day Jen or someone else was able to get inside and place a gift certificate for pizza on the table. It was a nice jester but too little too late as we already had plans and were leaving the next day.
The cabin has great potential but the pride of ownership and attention to detail isn't there. I do not recommend this cabin.

William, we are sorry to hear your stay didn't meet expectations. We value your feedback on how to improve our listing! We have shared your comments with the owner so any necessary adjustments may be made to prevent the issues you encountered for future guests. The homeowner apologizes for their unsatisfactory communication and is committed to improving responsiveness for guests during their stays. Based on our understanding, this homeowner went out of their way to make up for the oven mishap and provide a gift apology, in addition to contacting the maintenance company promptly. The owner would also like to clarify that the loft area you refer to has always been a space not intended for guest use - it is, in fact, the attic to the roof. We have never had a guest discover or find an issue with this area, but we have since sealed it off with a lock for future guests' safety. Evolve takes the accuracy of our listings seriously - it's one of our 4 Core Property Standards. We only use up-to-date, professional photographers so we can be sure that our images accurately reflect each property. Additionally, the homeowner has very high standards for their property, and they are sorry that cleanliness issues impacted your stay. They have spoken with their cleaning crew since your stay and have been assured that more thorough cleanings will happen from here on out. We are sorry the kitchen was not stocked in the way you were expecting and would love to get a more detailed list of what you felt was missing so we can add for future guests! The owner will try to make it more transparent about which kitchen basics they regularly stock (coffee, sugar, tea, creamer, salt, pepper, garlic salt, etc.) so that guests can know what they would need to bring to supplement those initial supplies. As is evidenced by the many great reviews, these owners are accustomed to providing five-star experiences, and we feel confident that future guests will be delighted with their stays at our cabin. We hope to get a chance to host you again after these improvements have been made! Best, the Evolve Team
We had a great stay - everything was very easy from checking in to communicating with the management. The only complaint we had was the hot tub was not working, but after reaching out people were in contact with us quickly and it was fixed the next day!
We had a great time here . The cabin is very spacious and has a great size yard . The teens enjoyed the jacuzzi after snowboarding while the adults watched movies . Excellent heating system and super comfy beds . We will definitely be back .
This was our second stay at Faith & Elle’s cabin and we absolutely loved it! Clean, quiet, close to everything and extremely well appointed! Don’t hesitate to book this cabin. It’s fantastic!
I booked this house and worried it was too small for my three grown up kids and us (husband and I) but it wasn't. It was clean, cute and we loved the family room and hot tub. The property manager was very communicative so that was great. Overall it was a really good time.
Great little house. You don't have to bring hardly anything with you
The property was nice and very quiet & relaxing. cCose to everything. The only problem we had is with the bedroom TVs couldn't get the closed captioning off and they would flicker on and off other than that we had a great stay. We appreciated that they let us check out at 1 p.m. instead of 11 a.m.
We had a great trip! We loved this place and all it had to offer! The hot tub was a huge bonus!
We had a great experience over all! We would definitely rent again!

Non smoking
Needed to air the place out. Rules said non smoking but house smelled of cigarette smoke when we arrived. Had to open windows, air out. Otherwise everything else was fine.

Response from VrboOwner on 24 March 2020
Thomas, we're sorry to hear certain aspects of your stay fell short. We can confirm the cabin is non-smoking and we take this type of feedback seriously. We understand the homeowner worked with you and investigated the cause of the odor, which was determined to be recently burned firewood from previous guests. The cabin has since been deep cleaned to ensure future guests don't encounter this scenario and we are confident this was an isolated incident. We look forward to continuing to host satisfied guests!
