Nicknamed our "Home-tel Suites," this is so much more than a "private room!" Truly better than any hotel option. This secluded retreat has all you could want and then some! Perfect for small families, couples, and solo travelers alike. Minutes to NAU, Sedona, Snowbowl, and downtown. A great home base to the Grand Canyon as well. A separate entrance leads you into your own private living kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom AND washer and dryer! Don't miss this spacious and beautiful suite!

Space:

Our space is the perfect getaway! This spacious walkout basement apartment bodes your own private eat in kitchen with a dining table and seating for 4, stocked with all the amenities you could need for cooking in. In the adjacent room, get cozy on the couch, while watching some t.v. or enjoying our collection of antique Arizona Highways magazines. The next room over boasts a king bed and plenty of storage for all your personal belongings. Down the hall you'll find a second bedroom with another plush king sized bed, with plenty of room for a pack-n-play (available upon request). A jack and jill bathroom with a stand up shower connects the hallway space to the bedroom. Extra linens and pillows are provided in the walk in closet, located in the bedroom for the pac-n-play. There is also a private, full size washer and dryer in the unit, available for your use! We even provide the soap :) For guests traveling in parties of 5, we have a third bed- it is a twin mattress with portable stand. It is kept in the closet so that guests can choose the best location for them to set it up for their needs. We provide all necessary linens for this bed as well.

Our backyard is full of mature grown oak trees. There is covered outdoor seating for you to enjoy on the lower level of the yard, down the deck stairs and to the right under the pergola. We recently installed an air-conditioning unit, to help ease any summer heat discomfort. This space neighbors our second suite, but still allows you complete privacy and your own outdoor space that does not require you to share it. This suite booked? Check out our other listing! There are a set of about five stairs required to go down to get to the space. Hometel Suites 1 and 2 can be booked separately for larger parties looking to house nearby one another. Both units together can accommodate parties of 8.

Guest access:

You will enter your private space through your own separate entrance, down a few stairs. Follow the path under the upper deck to find your getaway. The first set of sliding glass doors is home! You will notice the number 1 on the mailbox right next to the french doors, for suite 1. There is a lock-box with key, so you are able to check-in at your convenience any time of the day, past 3pm. The driveway can accommodate 1 guest car- all other vehicles will have to park on-street.

Guest interaction:

Your privacy is one of our top priorities, and our children are never allowed down in your space. How much interaction you’d like is completely dictated by you. I am happy to assist in answering questions or giving referrals, or you could come and stay with little interaction at all! I am often busy taking care of the kids, and we are out and about more than we are home, but the kids also love to hang around outside and play on the trampoline, which you are welcome to! Our kids are very friendly, and love making new friends!

Neighborhood overview:

We live in a well established family neighborhood. It’s not unusual to see all types of people taking leisurely strolls along the well kept sidewalks, while walking their dogs, and enjoying the fresh mountain air. There is a small park in our neighborhood just down the street from our home, along with a larger park at a local elementary school, also around the corner from our house. Our neighborhood of University Heights is located minutes from Northern Arizona University, along with all the major restaurants, grocery stores, and about a 10 minute drive to the down town area, and a 25 minute drive North to Snowbowl Ski Resort.

Getting around:

There is a bus stop South of our neighborhood, but a pretty good walk to get there. Taxis and Uber are also available.

Other things to note:

This suite is one of two units, both with their own private entrances and inside amenities. The units are located on the same level, but both are self contained private spaces apart from one another. Our kids use the backyard, and you are welcome to as well!

***The main heating control is housed outside of the suite in our living area. During the winter months (Oct- April) we keep the temperature at 72 during the day and 70 from 10pm-7am. We do provide space heaters and fans to help control the temperature without issue. If there’s a desired temp for the central system, just reach out. We have no problem adjusting the settings to your liking.
