Lovely home, very supportive host
Petar, the host, is very helpful and kind - he met us when we had difficulties parking our car and shared his parking spot for the night when we still had two cars (there is one parking spot for the home, a few flights of stairs above the home). There were treats waiting for us in the apartment which made for a nice welcoming touch. He also helped make connections with a sea kayaking company. The walk to old town is ~ 15 minutes; the walk back up is invigorating (we were in GREAT shape after our stay), so remember to have cold drinks waiting for you in the refrigerator. (Petar will give you directions to a small well-stocked market nearby - we really enjoyed feeling like "locals" at the market.) We are relatively active and were fine, but those with difficulties with stairs or should look elsewhere. The view from the balcony is amazing, and there are lovely summer evening breezes for the balcony after the sun goes down. The neighborhood is nice, with lots of cheerful kids, beautiful vegetable gardens. The pictures of the apartment are accurate - notice that the air conditioning is only in the living room. There are some odd "features", like no hot water in the kitchen (dishwashing machine has its own heater, so everything should go in the dishwasher), not enough cutting boards, no vegetable peeler and no toaster (that we could find), and the door to the shower needs repair, but thoughtful items like an ice cube tray and good knives are there and the bedrooms are beautifully and peacefully decorated. The lovely art in the home makes it feel like a real Dalmatian family home. We are glad that we stayed there. Puno hvala, Petar!
