In beautiful Potter County, PA…

…nestled in the heart of the Oswayo Valley, the Gasthaus is perfectly located for a weekend break or longer get-a-way.

120 acres of private land provide numerous trails with access to over 5,000 acres of State Game Land to wander and discover. Bald eagles, deer, bear, fox, and turkey as well as other migratory birds and wildlife call these forests home. Rainbows, browns, and native brook trout make fishing the nearby Oswayo River a delightful challenge. And our night skies hold unmatched views of the Milky Way.
General

Check-In/Out

Check-in time is 4 pm. Check-out time is 11 am. Please let us know your estimated arrival time in advance.

Minimum age to rent: 21
Children allowed: ages 0-17

No smoking is allowed inside the home. You may smoke outside and dispose of waste properly.
Pets allowed: dogs (limit 2 total)
Pets must stay in hard floor areas. $25/pet/day.

Guests

Parties and events (including family gatherings, birthday parties and weddings) are allowed on site as an add on, please contact for event pricing and packages.

Please turn off lights and electronics when not in use.
Please tidy up kitchen and dining areas after use.

Property

No shoes inside the house, please remove in mudroom or in the entryway.

Please do not rearrange furniture or decor.

A fully refundable $500 damage deposit is required. A pre-authorized hold will be placed on your credit card upon check-in and returned automatically within a few days of check-out unless any damages have occurred. Report any damages immediately. You are responsible for any damages outside of normal wear and tear.

The Gasthaus was amazing. Our host was kind, friendly, and made our stay exceptional! Lots of space to hike, roam, and explore. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. Loved the warm afternoons and the cool nights!We hope to return in the fall next year!

We had a great stay! Loved the fall decorations and attention to detail. The place has a great wraparound porch that is perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the scenery. There were full amenities including towels, iron and ironing board, and kitchen ware. Hosts were really responsive to questions. Really cannot say enough great things about the property and hosts.

Perfect for Friends gathering

We really enjoyed our stay, the house was very clean and well appointed. We did a lot of cooking and had everything we needed. We elected to stay at the house and stargaze and it was perfect could see the milky way and lots of constellations. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay at the Gasthaus

Very nice house and property. The location is great for children with lots of room and three ponds and Clara creek. Good for adults too. Great for star watching. Everyone had a comfortable stay and a great time.

Our stay was amazing. The cabin itself was clean and spacious. It easily slept 10-12 people. The hosts were extremely friendly and hospitable. We will be returning at some point when the weather is clear.

The property was clean and as advertised. The owner greeted us on the first day we arrived. The mountain view was breathtaking. We took walks on the trails, fished in the pond and sat around the fire pit at night.

We stayed at the property for the cherry spring state park tour. It’s perfect for a big group with so much space. It’s very well decorated and equipped with cooking gears. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, especially the master room on the first floor. The grill is great for a group bbq.

What a perfect place for a larger family to stay!! We came together for a 50th Anniversary party. There were 9 of us total. We had PLENTY of room in this clean and cozy lodge! Would definitely recommend to anyone! Absolutely enjoyed staying here!

Wonderful stay

We rented this place as a weekend getaway to celebrate our mother’s 70th birthday. It was the ideal setting for family bonding. We spent hours enjoying cornhole on the deck (we brought our own boards), exploring the property…so many great spots for family photos, and we loved the large kitchen table that we used to play cards on well into the night. It was clean, comfortable, and serene. We plan to go back again soon.
