West point lake LaGrange on water w/ pool tennis 11 acres 5/5 tho 2 R 1/2 bath
this is a very private location set on 11 acres -2 acres are fenced & groomed the rest of the property are private woods to explore --the house is waterfront w/dock( you do have a walk through woods to get to waterfront ) its about a football field - pool, tennis court, basketball ,volleyball ,bad midden, croquet ,corn hole ,board games& toys -the tennis court/ basketball lights are not working -- we have a long driveway w/ 2 circle drives so plenty of parking and room to maneuver a trailer or several ---the base rate is for 10 people ( I do a base rate to not discourage small groups just because its a big home doesn't mean it needs to be full -small groups deserve my home too ) after 10 people up to the 16 there is a $20 a day per person per night in addition to the base rate ( this is very common with larger homes ) -that fee is only over the initial 10 it shows up automatically on the booking info -- we are less than a mile from the Highland Marina -great fishing in our cove -each fabulous room has a creative name and sign that certainly denotes the theme and decor of the room and hopefully makes the huge house easier to navigate -THE ENTIRE INSIDE HOUSE IS NON-SMOKING ,dipping and vape free- there is an additional cleaning fee if you use smoking products inside -we welcome well trained dogs with a $75 pet fee for 2 dogs- additional 2 dogs another $75 max is 4 dogs ( if more than 4 you can always ask I am a dog person )-I have big dogs so I don't mind size but do tell me what you have ---YOU MUST POOP SCOOP YARD the pet fee is in addition to the cleaning fee- fleeing hurricane/ or emergency I may consider other pets w/a fee BUT YOU MUST contact me prior -the one bedroom --rainbow room -that is upstair & has a spiral staircase ( telling you for navigating stairs ) the rest of the house is one level all the way to pool and pavilion -this is a peaceful ,beautiful place with lots of nature great for families & friends -- lots of communal areas and private places -the single beds if needed have bedding placed on them not made up prior ( kids sometimes sleep with parents )-I can accommodate a wheelchair and have a special needs bathroom but please speak with me before booking to make sure it fits your needs - this is a nice family neighbourhood NO PARTIES !!!!! MY city permit restricts music volume ( we are down in the woods but still reasonable music is fine I leave an Alexa and it is loud enough to enjoy the music and be outside ) & my permit requires no ambient noice after 10PM - I will shut down a party ( anyone not on the reservation is a party ) I will not allow pets that are not on the original reservation so please get prior approval and pay for your pets prior to your arrival - it is YOUR responsibility to let me know changes to the reservation- I'm flexible and will try to accommodate but not after the fact -I HAVE to know -what, who, when, where and how many at my home at all times -after that enjoy the property have fun play music its very private- I want everyone to feel free to relax have fun there is nothing nicer than kids playing ,adults laughing and good fun --I want to provide a place for a lifetime of memories -peace luv and happiness to all which starts with my neighbours ,house & community -if you are wanting good responsible clean family/friends fun then this is the place for you!!! pool is covered during the winter usually Nov-Mar but ask I leave it open as long as possible & open as early as I can

The property was filthy!! Old and outdated nothing worked correctly!! Appeared like no one had stayed there in a while, half the interior lights didn’t work all the exterior lights didn’t work. The pool guy rigged the light in the pool to work. The playground pictured in the profile was burned to the ground!!! Then the owner filed a false claim that I damaged the A 60”TV and that wasn’t even on the property!!! The property was over grown and in disrepair!!! Owner was slow to respond, we were without power for 4 hours.Horrible experience!!! I pictured the property before and after to protect myself (great idea on my part)
We loved our time together as a Big family of 12 at the Flamingo house. Very spacious with plenty of beds and bathrooms. Kitchen was fully equipped too. We spent time playing games and roasting marshmallows by the outdoor fireplace. Would come again. Thanks
We absolutely loved this house and the small town feel of LaGrange. We recommend eating at Captains. It was delicious. We had plenty of room to hangout and plenty of private space too.
Great rental! Plenty of room, amazing pool, and the lake is just a short walk through the woods (the kids loved it!) Wonderful week for my grandson's birthday! Close to downtown which was a very nice area to walk/shop/eat.
Enjoyed the stay. The pool was nice and we played pickleball on the tennis court. Property is in a neighborhood but also secluded from the neighbors making it the best of both worlds.
yAnother beautiful stay here with our family! This was our 2nd year and there is always room for everyone! Plenty of pool time, dinner around the table, playing games, or just relaxing together…this home has just the right place for everything we want to do. We want for nothing while staying here.
This was an absolutely perfect vacation spot for our family. There was plenty of private space for the 7 of us when needed, and more than enough group areas where we could all be together. The pool with the pavilion was the favorite of all! The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil and cooking equipment we needed. Check-in and check-out was easy and our host responded to our communications in a timely manner. Definitely our choice for another vacation!
We enjoyed the relaxation that this property offered. The pool and outside lounging areas were a big hit as well as the tennis court (we used for pickleball)! Loved eating dinner with all the family at the big table by the pool. The cove was nice but didn't catch many fish. A great place to unwind and be refreshed!
Our family (parents, 2 teens, Grandma, and Grandpa) had a wonderful stay at The Flamingo House! The pool area is everything you could want and more: comfy chairs, big clean pool, covered shady area! Our dog loved running the property in the fully enclosed yard. The house boasted small touches that made it very easy for our family. Hand soap at every sink, paper towels, disposable silverware/napkins, spices, serving trays and bowls! There were big pool towels for us to use and even bug spray out by the pool! If your family is looking for a low key, relaxing vacation (we never left the house except for a grocery pick up at Walmart!) this is the place for you!
This property was ideal for our visit and the number of guests we had. The outside property was amazing! The adults could converse while the kids entertained themselves. We were so close to the wedding we attended if we forgot anything it wasn’t a problem because we could easily get back to the house and grab whatever we needed. The host answered all of our questions prior to our arrival! It was perfect!!

Relax by the Lake
I really loved the Flamingo house! The owner had decorated the dining room and den for Christmas which made our stay even more special.
It was too cold for swimming, but the pool looked very nice. The outdoor fireplace was wonderful. We brought our puppy with us and she enjoyed running around the fenced in backyard.
The rooms had different themes, so it was interesting to view all the art in the rooms.
If you are traveling near Lagrange, GA, check out the Flamingo House!
A group of friends and I had a stay cation at this property, and generally loved it. The owners were very attentive, but there were Internet problems and we never got Internet, making a working stay cation somewhat difficult. The outdoor spaces are fantastic, and there is always something new to do. Would rent again with assurances that the internet was back!
You feel like you are out in the country but much is close by. Your place to stay is on a 11 acre lot with a dock on the West Point Lake where you can fish. You have the swimming pool, tennis court, and basketball goal. A sweet goldfish pond where you get to feed the fish everyday. Very enjoyable view in the evening with the lightning outside. Nice big table outside where the whole family could eat together. We had a low country boil for everyone to enjoy eating outside at the big table. Granddaughter cooked a red velvet cake. A great place where we (family) made memories for a lifetime!!!!

Not quite what I expected but nice
I was disappointed in a few things. First of all, the pictures show a nice swingset which, of course, caught my eye, because we brought 5 children with us. We were very disappointed to see it was not there anymore. The picture that shows it should be removed from the photos because it was actually one of the reasons I picked this property. Second, the cleaning service missed several spots. The walk in shower closest to the kitchen was draining slowly. When we lifted the cover, it was full of hair that had not been cleaned. There were also spots of what looked like blood on the bathroom floor...just not as clean as I would have hoped. There were also several areas outside where people had done bonfires and left bottles and cans, etc. Third, we also brought all of our fishing equipment as there were many pictures of the lake. However, the damn is being repaired and the lake water had been drained so there was no lake. It would have been nice to know this by email before we went. The house had plenty of room but we could not find garbage bags for the kitchen and had no idea that the upstairs could only be reached by a very narrow set of spiral stairs. This also would have been good to know. All in all, it was a good stay, comfortable and spacious. Better communication and presentation of the property and what it offers needs to happen though.
My group of ladies have been going on fall trips together for over 30 years, so we consider ourselves to be able to give a fair, but honest review. We came here to explore and enjoy the Lagrange area. This location was perfect for that! Overall, we really enjoyed staying at this property. It has plenty of space and all the essentials. It has a very eclectic vibe, which we also appreciated. The only downfall was that it could use a little TLC. I won’t go into any details here, but I will be letting the owner know if a few items that need her attention. She has communicated with me very well and apologized in advance for anything that might’ve been amiss. Apparently she has been recovering from some injuries and hasn’t had an opportunity to take care of the property to her liking in recent months. Regardless, we would definitely come here again! It suited our needs well.
We did not stay at the property.
On the day of our arrival we arrived at the property around 2:00 pm just to find where we would be staying. The property owner was there at that time and came out and very rudely told us that we could not be there yet and as she was wildly talking we realized she was reeking of alcohol. We explained we had been traveling for hours and was just finding where we would be and we were going to meet other family members. I did not even realize that she had not sent me the check in information at this time. When we went back to the house to check in and could not. I called her 14 times left messages and texts with no answer. VRBO was then contacted and after their attempts to get in touch with her failed we were put up in a hotel and told that VRBO would send me options for a different rental. We were stranded and hours away from home so we found another rental and tried to salvage the rest of our trip. This has been the worst trip of our lives and I do not care that she woke up from her 12 hour nap at 2:18am and gave the code. At this point we were mad as anyone would have been! I have been on the phone several times that had ended up in hours with VRBO during my vacation. I would advise anyone looking at this property to just pass on by. She will also respond to this review and say that the statements that were made were all false and that we tried to sneak in but I don’t know how we would do that being WE DID’NT HAVE THE DOOR CODE! Yes, read her reviews, as I’m sure she’s going to say, but pay special attention to how she responds to the less than perfect ones, these really tell a lot about this host. Let me end by saying to her, as she likes to say in her responses, SHAME ON YOU!!
Initially we were unsure of how many we would have but the property owner was very accommodating. Due to the confusion of the amount of guests and dogs we would have, we were only charged for 15 instead of sixteen though we did have to make a late payment to allow the pets in.
Within the first few hours we found several roaches and a pair of underwear left out on the kitchen counter. We notified the homeowner and she sincerely apologized and said they had just sprayed the day before. The second day, we noticed a leak from the upstairs shower that was coming through to the laundry room. The homeowner sent a nearby neighbor over to look into this. They let us know that the shower door wasn't closed all the way and it was leaking out of the shower and through the floor. This could be the case, but since I was the one in the shower when it started leaking I do not believe this to be true. Although the door was sticking and not shutting all the way, water was not on the floor. She offered to find a new place to stay. Considering how many people we had, we thought it would be too inconvenient to accommodate all of us in a new place, last minute.
Next, we noticed the paint in the downstairs shower was peeling off as if it was just painted or incorrect paint was used. We let her know about this as well. She said that it was a bit of a patch job until the peak season rolls over and she can get people in there to fix the issues properly. These were all signs to us that she may neglect to maintain the property adequately.
By day three, we had probably killed 50 roaches in the kitchen and pantry. We complained again to which she told us that VRBO would be finding us a new place to stay and that she would take care of it in the morning. She also said that an exterminator was going to arrive on Thursday to investigate the infestation. I never heard back about the website finding us a new property.
On Thursday, when the exterminator showed up, he let us know that he was only contracted to spray the outside. As I described the infestation, he came in and did an inspection and confirmed they had been there a while. We never heard back about it.
We dealt with the infestation for the duration and received 200 dollars back as a refund. She seemed upset that we complained about the issues instead of fixing them. I imagine she will try to defend herself on this review instead of addressing the issues with her house.

Why they chose this property
I can discount cleaning from the $300 a night because less to take care of when pool covered no plants and such during off season DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE -the site doesn't allow for the fluctuation with cleaning fee as it does on the nightly rate so contact me I can adjust manually during winter months again if less people than the base rate of 10 people
What makes this property unique
pool ,tennis court (no night lights for tennis and basketball ), dock ,basketball ,bad mitten ,volleyball and croquet -we have a tent that can be used it can be fun for the kids plus many games available to use &more
