Lovely place but needs closer attention to detail.
We had a lovely family get together at the house after having troubles with the booking - insure that you mention how many bedrooms you want rather than just tell how many people other you may get a nasty financial surprise. The place is lovely and the booking hiccups were forgotten when i walked in. There are problems, however, including finding a REALLY dirty oven, dirt under kitchen cabinetry (looking for an earring back), melted ice cream in some of the freezer drawers (the fridge was not cold when we arrived), and, the copious serving plates were grubby including a few dead blowflies amongst them. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean as was the living room. The location is lovely. Also, there were no breakfast provisions despite it being stated as being provided.

Escape o the country
What can I say ... The moment we arrived, it felt like home . Deb has done a wonderfull job on the restoration of the shearer lodgings, its abosolutly breathtaking when you walk into the kitchen which was fully equiped , the lounge room and fire place is to die for .Our family of 9 from the ages of 6 mths to 60+ all enjoyed the peace and quiet. The yard is big enough for the children to play and fully fenced so it was a no worries mate situation , just like the old days. Exploring the shearers shed and surrounds is a must do. But the highlight of the whole experience was the sapphire fossicking , everybody got so into it that the next day the 2 year old said , are we going digging . And from then on it was called the DIG . Which we did each morning . I am sure we will be back very soon . Thank you Deb for letting us stay at your beautiful property.

We had the most wonderful weekend gathering at Waterloo. The Quarters have been beautifully restored, with every modern luxury, whilst still maintaining the charm of the old building. We loved all the details, the cleanliness, the well-equipped kitchen, the huge fireplace and living space. This is just the best place to gather with a large group. We will be back. Thank you Deb. X

Great setting, perfect weather, excellent facilities.
Really enjoyed the bird life and peace & quiet. Had a great time fossicking in the nearby creek. It was only a short drive through the spectacular New England countryside to the historic towns of Glen Innes and Inverell.
Great place to get away from it all for some R&R.
