About this property
Quinta D'Avó Amélia - Casa do Forno
Casa D'Avó Amélia is a recently refurbished. It was a rural house dating back to the late 19th century. It has always been a family home and we now intend to share its beauty with those who want to visit us. The decoration retains furniture and old objects, dotted with paintings by contemporary Portuguese artists.
Integrating a wider space, with patio and a wide lawn, many garden trees, fruit of the tireless work of the mother Armanda who dedicated them much affection. The bedroom decorated with antique furniture but comfortable, the modern bathroom, the kitchen of the oven, were adapted to the current modern standards of comfort. The television, the access to free internet are included. These are aspects that combine modernity with cultural preservation and make this home a very nice place for holidays.
Its location in the links of the main highways of Portugal, A1 and A25
that cross the country from north to south and east to west, allows in less than 1 hours visit the historical cities of Porto, Coimbra and Viseu. The city of Aveiro, so typical for its channels and its boats, called Moliceiros, is less than 20 minutes away. The natural wonder that is the Ria de Aveiro, the beautiful beaches of the region, with emphasis on Barra, Costa Nova and Torreira are also in a circle of 20 km. Here you can also practice water sports like sailing or kitsurf, make bike rides and thus, more paused, enjoy the beauties crossed by the famous walkways of the region. We also have available to our guests 2 bikes at an additional cost and subject to reservation.
All these features make this home a perfect place to spend a relaxing holiday.

About the host
Hosted by Manuela Cardoso

I am a native of Aveiro, I live most of the time in this city, I am an economist and Porto is my second city. There, got my degree, I created friends, I met my husband and I’m happy for the recent renovation that made it a centre of attraction known. Aveiro, much smaller, but who knows enchanted by the beauty of its lagoon, for the friendless of its people and for the cultural dynamism.
I am extroverted, I like to keep things that was also my story, curious for the knowledge of 'different', averse to monotony. So, my professional life has had several guidelines, one of which is the professional practice in various countries and the integration into research projects of different subjects. It is this newness that I have always tried, and the ease of interacting with others that has given me these experiences.
