The photos do not show this, but the property is located in the backyard of another home.Everything is one room, similar to a hotel. We didn’t mind that, but the photos make it look much bigger than it is.The place itself is cute and homey, and the hosts added nice touches like essential oils and teas, but unfortunately, it was not properly cleaned. We drove an 8.5-hour round trip to stay here, and upon arrival there were spiders everywhere, piles of dead flies throughout the house, spider webs and dead flies in the shower, and chicken poop covering the patio rocking chairs. The floors were dusty and dirty, and there were random hairs on the countertops, bathroom counter, and other surfaces. The worst part was the smell. It seemed like food was left in the garbage disposal and never cleaned, making the whole place smell like a landfill. This made my pregnant wife extremely sick, causing her to throw up multiple times throughout the night. What was supposed to be a fun birthday getaway turned into a mess. The host offered a refund for the unused night, which was expected, but it’s still shocking we paid 150 for such conditions and had to drive back home.Other guests seemed to have great experiences, so maybe this was a one off or it hadn’t been cleaned in months but overall, it made my wife very sick on her birthday and after spending 4.5 hours in the car just to arrive to a dirty home, it left us very disappointed with the experience.
We may not be Idaho natives, but Salmon quickly became home the moment we arrived. There’s something special about this land the mountains, the wildlife, the slower pace and we’ve completely fallen in love with everything this town has to offer.
Hosting allows us to share that beauty with others. We love welcoming guests onto our property, giving them a taste of real Idaho living, and creating a space to unwind, reconnect, and experience the magic of this area the way we do every day
Why they chose this property
We chose this location because it offers the best of Idaho in one place mountains, river, wildlife, and wide-open space. It’s the kind of setting that feels untouched and peaceful, yet still close enough to town for convenience.
We fell in love with the quiet, the stars, and the slower pace of life out here. It’s a true escape from the big city where you can actually breathe, unwind, and reconnect with nature
What makes this property unique
We have: • Free-range chickens wandering the property • Beautiful horses grazing in the pastures • Towering trees and natural privacy in every direction • Endless mountain views and walking trails right outside the door
It feels secluded and peaceful, like your own private slice of Idaho wilderness yet still comfortable, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. It’s the perfect blend of nature, wildlife, and luxury living.
