What a great little spot. It was very open in the communal area which was great for my larger group of 7. Plenty of room for us to all sleep comfortably as well. And a pretty close drive to all the cool spots in truckee
Great house in Truckee. During the winter (we visited during Snowmageddon), a snowblower clears the driveway once a day. There’s no toiletries provided, so make sure to bring your own soap, shampoo, etc. Same for coffee. The neighbors are also super nice.
Everything went smoothly with check in and check out. The host answered our questions quickly. The place was as described except for the grill. It was in the listing but not at the house and apparently even if it was at the house it would be unusable. I recommended that it be removed from the listing. Otherwise everything was as expected. The location is really convenient. We would stay again in the future.
Extremely spacious and cozy property! Solidly exceeded our expectations with a fantastic living room hangout space and great sleeping areas. Would definitely stay here again!
The house was perfect for our needs. It's a bit older and dated so don't be expecting luxury, but great location and excellent communication leading up to our stay and during it. Would stay again. Thanks!
This property is very nice, clean, big enough for a large family. Location is only 7 minutes from downtown Truckee and easy to get to. The neighborhood is nice and gives the real "I'm in the Sierras" feeling, fresh air, nice inside and out!
While the decor is a little dated, but didn't effect any of my wonderful time away for a friend's wedding.
We rented this property to celebrate my husbands birthday and ski/snowboard at Northstar. The home fit our family of 6 perfectly and the living space was spacious and comfortable. The home is very clean and while the linens/towels/bedding/kitchen equipment/decorations are from my Mother’s generation everything was very well kept, clean, and functional. We enjoyed our stay and will happily re-book in the future.
The house looks amazing .we definitely come back.
But we would recommend they should change the bed sheets . it's kind like Old. Another then that we had a great time there.
Very clean, big and open concept, which was amazing. Kitchen supplies out dated, one of the burners does not work on the stove, the toaster was sparking/very hazardous, not safe. The beds are not comfortable.

Misleading description. No amenities
The description indicated swimmming , access to Tahoe Donner Association marina at donner lake :rentals, boat, paddle boards. Pickleball, tennis, jacuzzi. Not true at all. When I discussed with owner, she said she stopped paying for guest access about two years ago. It wasn’t worth it and she could not get paperwork done in time. Not helpful. Linens and towels were threadbare, at least 20 years old. Thermostat was not operational. Bathroom plunger was rotted and torn. At least 30 years old. It was if grandma went to assisted living and they just listed it for VRBO.
We had a great stay at Joyce's rental and would stay there again. It was super clean and comfortable and looked exactly like the photos, so we knew what to expect. Check-in and checkout was easy.Yes, the furnishings and decor need updating, but we knew this going in and were fine with it. There were some things that bugged us a little but didn't affect our stay, I mention them only to make this a more useful review:-The stove is a very old electric and is a bit difficult to cook on-The toaster needs replacing, it burns one side and doesn't toast the other-All of the non-stick cookware needs replacing as it is chipped and scratched-There is a dearth of cooking utensils (only one single metal spatula for instance) and no sharp knives-Silverware, dishware and glassware is what looks like a random lifetime accumulation. Very few drinking glasses, no wine glasses, lots of branded giveaway mugsAgain - this did not affect our stay but it's something to keep in mind if that stuff is important to you.

Got what I paid for, barely
The housekeeper didn't do a very good job prior to our visit. Upstairs bath was NOT clean (soap scum, hair on counter and shower) Rules given to us after we paid were lengthy and obviously not followed by housekeeper, esp. laundry. Also better instruction on how to unlock the shed would have been useful, as not everyone is familiar with anti-bear sheds.
Nice location. Disappointed in the FILTHY, broken down sofas in great room, even the particle board placed under cushions for support was broken. Garage was a real mess and dirty too. Weed wreaths & arrangements everywhere are laden with dust & would be best if removed completely. Needs a new coffee pot that automatically turns off when left . Kitchen has too much junk and needs to be sorted & organized. There were inaccessible burned out light bulbs in the high ceiling, so evening light was poor. We were left with 2 keys, but only 1 worked to open the front door. There was no garage door opener, which was very inconvenient.
