Welcome to the Mighty River Retreat - a peaceful, riverfront oasis nestled on the Mad River in Moretown, Vermont! Centrally located near Waitsfield, Waterbury/Stowe and Montpelier, this family friendly home is perfect base for adventures- skiing, hiking, biking & breweries! Enjoy yoga on the patio overlooking the river, cold plunge via the private swim access and then relax in the Finnish cedar sauna. Perfect for families looking for a fun summer getaway, fall foliage adventure or ski retreat.

About the Property:
Enter the home through the quaint front porch with rocking chairs ready for you to relax and enjoy the breeze and gardens full of flowers and shrubs. You will find open concept living room and kitchen with natural light flooding in, radiant heated hardwood floors and craftsman woodwork detail throughout.

The living space has two cozy couches (including a sleeper sofa) and an entertainment center with smart TV and electric fireplace ready for cozy movie nights with the family and cabinet full of games for the family and toys for kids. There is a closet ready for your coats and half bathroom off the side entrance.

French doors open the kitchen and dining area up to a spacious outdoor space perfect for entertaining with outdoor dining table with umbrella, Weber grill and sectional. Imagine yoga in the sun on the back deck before a morning coffee, then a cool plunge in the clear water for a refresh in your own swimming hole. Then warm up in the sauna (coming soon) overlooking the river. There is a gentle sloping yard down to the riverfront with ample space for lawn games and an area ready for campfires.

Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed and has 2 windows that let in lots of natural light. The second bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and 2 twin beds and overlooks the river and rushing of the river can be heard when windows are open, weather permitting. There is a full bathroom (with tub) between the bedrooms rooms that is equipped with all your bathing needs as well as a washer and dryer.

Location, location, location!
Moretown is a small town along the Mad River just minutes off Interstate 89 with incredible proximity to recreational opportunities like Sugarbush, Stowe, the Long Trail as well as UVM hospitals, VT statehouse, golf courses, local breweries and shopping. It is located 30 minutes from the Burlington airport. During the summer months, there is a lovely island and swimming hole in the back of the property.

A short walk from the front door (near the Town Office and Moretown Elementary School), you will find newly resurfaced tennis/pickleball courts, a playground, ballfields, hiking trails, sledding hills, and a recently constructed mountain bike system that winds its way through the Moretown Woods. Also a short walk from the home, the Moretown General Store is a friendly and convenient full service market.

Great coffee shops, breweries and restaurants and some of the best creemees are just down the road in Middlesex, Waitsfield, Waterbury and Montpelier.

There are 2 EV charging stations nearby -
Both are right off the 89 exit (at the Middlesex Park and Ride) and in the parking lot of Red Hen Baking.

We had great stay. We visited my daughter for Thanksgiving and had an awesome time. The home is very comfortable, clean, peaceful and the view of the river is great. I would definitely return and do recommend.
