This secluded country style holiday homestead provided for your stay has all the comforts of home. With the generous sized main bedroom boosting a King size beds for comfort. A lounge with an open wood burning fire for those nice and cosy times to cuddle up, an equipped kitchen for home cooking, bathroom, laundry and our best feature a seating dining area with stunning sweeping views.

Guests are welcome to walk through the paddocks and fields of the property and explore along the creek and river and experience a part rural life in this beautiful part of Western Australia.

Perfectly placed in the great southern region of Western Australia and nestled within the premier wine region, you can explore the Great Southern with day trips to Albany, Denmark, Pemberton, Walpole, and The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, Stirling Range National Park, Bluff Knoll, the Porongurup National Park, and other beautiful attractions close at hand.

Outside, on the veranda is an outdoor dining setting a bench seat a BBQ and beautiful views over the property. We highly recommend enjoying a drink and some nibbles on the veranda while watching the sun set.

In the cooler months you can stoke up a fire to keep warm and cuddle up, toast marshmallows or use the cast iron grate for cooking, our favourites are stews in the winter months or jacket potatoes cooked inside on hot coals.

Frankland River Retreat is also an ideal place for keen photographers and astro photographers, as there's no light pollution you can take some great photos of the stars at night and you can go walking around the property and gets some great photos along the river.
There are plenty of opportunity for amateur/professional photographers or just use your mobile phone to capture some memories.

Over twenty different types of birds have been seen at Frankland River Retreat. if you cant spot them you can certainly hear them singing.

If your feeling more adventurous or want to go sightseeing Frankland River Retreat is a great location to venture out to Albany, Denmark, Pemberton, tall karri trees of Gloucester National Park, Walpole, Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, Stirling Range National Park, Bluff Knoll and Porongurup National Park . its a great location for that get away.

Is there a BBQ at the property?
Yes-Because everyone loves a good old Aussie BBQ, the homestead has a gas barbeque on the veranda for guests to use.

I have a family can extra people stay?
Please make a request for additional people prior to booking.

Is there free Wi-Fi at the house?
Due to our remote location, the internet connection is via satellite, we are unable to provide unlimited free WiFi. as  satellite plans are metered .
Internet is provided for light usage, checking messages  etc and not for streaming.
please log & out after  each use to reduce data usage. 
We see this as a positive though, as an opportunity to unwind, slow down and reconnect.
We are happy to confirm that Telstra mobile 4G & 5G works at the house.

Are there any shops nearby?
Part of the Frankland River Retreat charm is its seclusion. This means there are no supermarkets or corner shops nearby. A general store is located 15kms in the Frankland town, and there are IGA supermarkets located in Kojonup and Mount Barker.

Do we need to bring anything to cook with?
The homestead is set up for self-catering, the kitchen is equipped with fridge, gas stove, electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, saucepans, frying pans, crockery, glasses, and cutlery and kitchen utensils.

Do we need to bring our own wood for the fire?
Wood for the indoor wood burner is provided for guests, cut up and ready on the veranda.

Are you pet friendly?
At this time we are unable to accommodate pets at the property.

What’s close by to visit?
Frankland River has friendly wineries Alkoomi, Ferngrove, Lange Estate and Frankland Estate.
Please check wineries for visiting cellars, opening times and call into one for wine tasting.

Do we have to share the house?

Great remote and peaceful location. Advice re lack of Optus coverage was accurate, but purchase of Telstra pre-paid worked - just! Hope to return with my family one day.

Awesome relaxing time
We stayed for a week and had a great time. The sunsets were perfect with a gin and tonic and the stars at night were phenomenal. The kids had a ball exploring!!
