Great place with a beautiful view! Easy walk to both Playa Mann and downtown area. If we ever go back to San Cristobal, we would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful view , very convenient to town , Sean helped with cabs and any questions , wished we had more relaxing time to soak in the view as we went on tours every day … maybe next trip ..air conditioning was terrific when returning from a hot day !!

Sean was an excellent host. He communicated with us regularly before our stay answering questions about the island. When we had major trouble with an independent tour operator he helped us find a new operator in no time, just excellent!
The location is perfectly situated near the city and Playa Mann beach as well as the interpretation Center. Check Inn and communication with Leonardo was very good and helpful, also for refilling what is needed. While booking the Suite it’s written breakfast is included, that’s not clear enough, it’s not really a full breakfast, only basics like eggs, bread rolls, jam, butter, oil, pepper, salt, some fruits, some granola, coffee, but you have to ask for refills almost every day and prepare by yourself. Cooking real meals is almost not possible, only few cooking utensils available.
A beautifully appointed large penthouse suite and stunning sunset views, lots of windows and a private deck with a hammock and lounge chairs. Sean and Maria Elena are perfect hosts - they picked us up at the airport, supplied the kitchenette with delicious fresh bread/butter/jam daily, locally sourced coffee and ample filtered water. Sean arranged water and taxi tours with trustworthy sources and gave accurate restaurant reviews. His home-made map of the area was invaluable. We are grateful! Thank you for an amazing time.

Best place to stay for Independent Touring!
We absolutely loved our stay at "The Penthouse". Sean was the perfect host for us with his English and knowledge of the island. He picked us up at the airport, called taxis for us when we needed one (use the ones he calls for reliability if making a day trip or any trip out of town), and arranged 3 boat trips for us. He knows the reliable tour operators. The penthouse is gorgeous, immaculate and private. Plenty of clean water is supplied everyday as well. Great for a couple or someone with one child. The porch with chairs and a hammock are perfect for drinking coffee and wine while watch stunning sunsets. Hairdryer, coffee maker, basics like soap and shampoo and even beach towels are provided.
The location is ideal as well. 15 min. gorgeous walk to the best snorkeling we found on the island at Cerro Tijeratas. Easy walk to town (maybe a mile at most) for restaurants, stores, bank and laundry services. We stayed 10 days on San Cristobal and did not visit any other islands as we found plenty to do there. Do not miss Punta Pitt!
It can be a bit noisy there occasionally with some nearby construction and a school across the street, but it never bothered us and we loved the sounds of the children from the school. Don't let the incomplete construction around the island throw you. It is part of the charm. Truly a magical place. One final word--the penthouse entrance is up 3 flights of stairs. Again, not a problem for us, but you do need to be decent shape even to try this trip.

Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a real pleasure to meet you and share your enjoyment of this amazing place. We were also very happy to arrange the excursions for you as that way we could relax, knowing you were in good hands. Odd that you thought it could be a mile to the town centre - Although we are on the fringes of town, we are still only 600 yds from the main pier. I guess it looks further on the map and it could be the many distractions on the walk that made it seem further - You certainly don't go anywhere in a hurry here. As you noted, there are construction noises and that is true just about anywhere there are people; we ourselves are even building new suites next-door. But we have an hourly-paid crew and we direct them to do quiet stuff or even stand by when our guests are in. Fortunately our neighbours do not have noisy dogs - or chickens so its really quiet at night (if you don't count sea-sounds and the odd sea-lion barking). All our best wishes go with you.

The oenthouse is great, close enough to walk to town and lots of bars/restarants nearby. Sean was incredibly helpful, answering questions, letting us store bags, arrangimg transport. I would stay again for sure.
My gf and I stayed 4 nights here in the Galapagos and it was absolutely fantastic. The view is actually as incredible as the photos show. The place was clean, the bed was big and comfortable, the little kitchen has what you need and nothing you don't and the balcony was so great to hang out on boasting a front row seat to the sun setting over the ocean. Everything in the apartment was functional and worked as it should. The host Sean has lived there over a decade and is great for recommendations on restaurants, tours, activities etc... and even arranged taxis and boat tours and Covid testing for us. He even kept us stocked with fresh bread from the local bakery, coffee, drinking water and fruit. In a world rampant with over promising and under delivering this was a very refreshing experience of the opposite. Can't recommend this place enough!
The penthouse was a spacious and comfortable place with an excellent view of the bay and a short walk to town. In the other direction are beaches, snorkeling and well maintained trails. While we ate out for most meals except breakfast, the kitchen is small and a bit sparse with utensils but the place allowed us a lot of freedom to be away from crowds and enjoy the warm weather. The owner, Sean was very responsive and kept our water pitchers filled and trash emptied and have us tips on what to do and see.
Very accommodating and extremely nice people. Met us at the airport upon arrival. Ha e us a verbal breakdown of places to visit on out limited time in San Cristobal .

Amazing!
Our visit to San Cristobal island could not have been more perfect, thanks in large part to Sean and his family. We were greeted upon arrival and enjoyed our daily visits with Sean (either near the suite or seeing him around town).
Since we were only in town for a few days and did not really speak Spanish, Sean was a great help in suggesting both local excursions and daily activities on the island. Additionally, he took care to provide us with fresh bread and other necessary items to help make our stay that much more enjoyable. Further, we appreciated his recommendations for local restaurants.
In addition to having a friendly host, we were in close proximity to everything. We could walk to the beach or into town for Happy Hour in less than 5 minutes. The visit to Galeodan was perfect and we are already looking forward to our return trip!

Excellent
Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the downtown, quiet, unobstructed 360 degrees view of the ocean and island, large space and very nicely organized. I recommend it 100% for a couple or family with 1-2 kids. It would be difficult to find something better in San Cristobal.

Best Choice Possible for a Novice Traveler
My 16 year old and I planned a trip to Ecuador to visit family outside of Quito. Since we were so close to Galapagos, we had to at least make a visit. I could only allot 3 of our 14 travel days to the islands. Island hopping/cruising wasn't an option due to budget/time constraints. Also, we speak no spanish other than "mustaza" (mustard) and "ojo" (ice). So, i needed a place to use as a home base with someone who spoke English that I could ask questions and get guidance. We knew no one on this island, and we aren't well-traveled. I booked this cold from VRBO using Paypal to pay for the rental.
I could not have asked for a better resource than Sean. He booked two tours for us (Highlands and Kicker Rock) picked us up at the airport, and called a taxi for us when we left. He was very unobtrusive but totally approachable and helpful in any way. And, the place! The view alone would have been enough reason to stay there, but the location is awesome. You could walk easily to several attractions...our favorite was Darwin Cove where you could snorkel yourself into exhaustion. We saw tons of cool stuff there including 3 sea turtles. Playa Mann and the Interpretation Center are 200 meters away. Also, we walked to the malecon (boardwalk) every night for dinner and it was easy and scenic. IN fact, we easily walked everywhere we wanted to go except for the two tours. Totally safe...I let my daughter go to Playa Mann and the malecon by herself without worries. Loft is neat as a pin, and you can get a fabulous cross breeze from the screened doors and windows if you want to give the a/c a break. It wasn't 5 star by American standards, but it was perfect for us to make the most of the time we had and enjoy the beautiful water and wildlife offered there. It was a trip of a lifetime, and we could not have enjoyed it as much without Sean's help. Worth every dollar!! Many thanks from the Mississippi Delta!
