This home is in the Northern Neck of Virginia in the beautiful community of Stratford Harbour. The Northern Neck is the birthplace of eight of our Presidents. It is Historical place, chock full of history. The Potomac River is right nearby with Maryland across the way.
A wonderful place to kayak and fish is at the Currioman Bay. While kayaking you can also search and find Miocene era fossils along the shores.
George Washington's Birthplace is a nearby Federal Park, Stratford Hall the home of the Lee's where there is a museum, tours and special activities.
Nearby there is the well know Westmoreland State Park where there is hiking, biking, shark teeth and fossil hunting.
There are numerous plantations to visit.
So many Vineyards to visit as well.
Menokin house and museum.
There are two museums right in the historically quaint town of Montross. The town has the Northern Neck Brewery with craft beers and delicious food. The Art of Coffee is a great breakfast and lunch place.
There is Angelos for Italian food and seafood. There is Mexican restaurant in town called El Mariachi with an incredible full-service bar with reasonable priced drinks and delicious food along with a cheery and colorful atmosphere.
Montross has First Fridays during May through September.
You can shop at the local Food Lion, the Family Dollar and the General Dollar.
Walgreens is available and there is also a florist.
Many local antique shops to find some special treasures.
