I highly recommend for a couples weekend getaway if you are looking for some QT with your special someone. A great escape for a private weekend with ocean views galore. Anderson Valley wineries less than an hour drive, and a straight shot to downtown Mendocino for shopping and dining. Highly recommended.
Very private, excellent views. We are looking forward to staying there again. We thought it might be too small, but it was the perfect size for the two of us.
We had a great time at the studio for our "mini-moon" after our wedding. Very relaxing and the perfect location. We had some problems with the internet, but the local contact was extremely responsive and helpful. We were given a small refund for our trouble with the internet, which we appreciated. Didn't mind much -- we were trying to relax anyway!
Great location, great price. Very homely feel. I’m sure you could nit pick something’s if your use to city glamour but I guess that’s part of the rustic charm. Nice peaceful place. I wish ocean access was easier but you can find ways with a little drive but the view was stunning. Was peaceful and the area has so much to offer. And you must try Luna trattoria in town!
This property has some of the most stunning ocean views I’ve ever seen. Beautiful landscaping as well. Mendocino’s downtown area is about a half mile down the road, with a market and shops to explore. I will say, the furniture and decor could use a little updating, but not a make or break there. Also, I think the 10:00 AM check-out time is too early considering that check-in for the next guests isn’t until 4:00 PM. Again, not a dealbreaker. Overall, this place is wonderful and we will most likely stay here again in the future.
The cottage was great. They had everything that you could imagine in the line of utensils etc. Pots pans, pampered chef, coffee pots even a waffle maker. Couldn't have had a better view of the ocean. Very clean and comfortable.
Great location to some phenomenal nature. One minute drive to the main downtown and less than 15 minute drive to all the local nature hotspots. Photos don’t really show it but you are right next to a main road. Sometimes you do hear trucks and cars. Also the bed is hard as rocks.
This is the smallest of three rental spaces on this property and when it comes to the view by far the best. It was like having an ever changing piece of art in front of me all the time. I had everything I needed to be comfortable. And with easy proximity to Mendocino village and Shoreline Highway, my stay was marvelous.

No WiFi or Internet
Great location with beautiful views, but absolutely no Internet or WiFi. No tissues or coffee provided. Poor amenities compared to other VRBOs. The local team tried to help, but never got the internet issue resolved. Requested a partial refund but waiting to hear back from Vacasa.
There are two locks on the front door. Figuring out which one and how the correct lock worked was time consuming and gave us problems every time we came back to the house.

Thank you, Jerry, for your feedback! We are happy you enjoyed this home. We sincerely apologize for the door code issues you have encountered during your stay. We will continue to work with both our local staff and homeowner to make improvements to this home, and we hope you'll give us a second chance to impress you!
Property was run down, i.e. shabby furniture, rusting accessories in the shower. Also, both days I stayed at the property there was a loud wedding/party going on next door at the Agate Cove Inn. Loud music was playing from 4-10:30pm. The DJ's speakers were no more than 15 feet from the studio. What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend in Mendocino became a nerve wracking experience. Be forewarned.
The directions for driving to the house were easy to follow right up until we parked the car. There was no mention that you have to walk completely around to the left, around the small shed, through a gate marked Private, to the front of the Studio. There you will find the lockbox. We spent about 30 minutes trying a different door because there was no mention of this go-around route. I called Vacasa but by the time they tried to help, we had already found the path. The house was great. It had everything, except any bit of food, save a Himalyan salt shaker. You need to bring everything if you are planning to eat there. It was very convenient to go less than a mile to town but since Lansing Street has cars we decided to drive to town. The views from the 2 porches were amazing. I would definitely stay here again - especially now that I know how to get in!

Lovely, once you can get in!!
The artist’s studio is absolutely charming with inspiring view of the ocean and nice decks around which the daffodils were blooming. Comfortable, pretty, clean and cozy accommodations. Very close to downtown Mendocino though not safe to walk due to no shoulder.
However, the method entry is not user friendly. Using the Schlage keypad was not easy and we stood in the cold rain for some time, making several attempts to use the 10 digit code, which we had written down on paper. We had received a link to “how to master” the Schlage and key lock box, but there we were in the elements, without wi-fi yet, trying to open the link. The key lockbox would not open. I tried to call Vacasa but did not have a signal. Seemed a bit ridiculous. Finally we got in. I see another review mentioning that it took 30 minutes to get in. Once in we could not obtain the secure wi fi- had to use insecure one.
With that view, no one needs tv,but we had brought a dvd of a movie we hoped to watch. There were no instructions how to deal with the different remote controls in order to get the dvd movie to interact with the TV. In the meanwhile there various warnings about what we should not do. This and the difficulty getting in were not helpful.
We did have to report an inoperable outlet and rain-induced leak to Vacasa, and the first thing that happens when you call is an invitation to text instead. I felt like we were renting from a bot! But after reaching humans, I appreciated the interchange.

We are sorry for the confusion because of the remote and for not having specific instructions on what to do during your stay. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention so that we can improve our customer service for future guests. We hope to host you again in the future.
Really nice play to stay. Everything one would need for a short stay (only thing is I missed not having an ice box in the fridge (and special mention to the plunger! Need an upgrade)). But neither of those complaints would change my opinion in the slightest. A terrific place to stay.
