About this property
Oceantfront Estate w/ Luxury Kitchen & Game Room
Summary:
Cantus Cove Estate
The Space:
There's no setting on the North Coast quite like the one that awaits at Cantus Cove Estate, an oceanfront sanctuary reflecting the awe-inspiring majesty of nature. Just being on the grounds is a world-class experience, between the elegant design, the incredible closeness to nature, and the uninterrupted views of the ocean horizon. It's a cliffside retreat that stays with you for years to come, from the spectacular sunsets to the sounds of the waves crashing onto the rocks.
This blufftop home is a true escape, set on 8 private acres of oceanfront property. Passing through the entrance gate, you'll leave the world behind for the soft sounds of ocean waves and the occasional sea lion in Caspar Cove. Don't be surprised if you also spot whales while gazing at the water! It's a lovely area to walk, whether you go south to Caspar Headlands or north to the beach at Jug Handle State Natural Reserve. So much is within an easy drive as well, including picturesque Mendocino (five miles), the conveniences of Fort Bragg (six miles), and beautiful Russian Gulch State Park (five miles).
The house is a showcase of its natural setting, from the Adirondack chairs overlooking the bluff to the park-like front yard frequented by deer. Enjoy porches both in front and out back, giving you ample space to relax with your morning coffee and breathe in the cool, salty ocean air.
The three floors span 5,000 square feet, making the house ideal for families, small-group retreats, and everything in between. Enjoy views of the ocean from almost every room and the fresh, modern style of an extensive renovation (completed in 2023) which brought in all new appliances. Highlights include an immaculate kitchen (with double ovens, a beverage fridge, and other choice appliances) and a light-filled living and dining room.
Even the everyday activities feel special, thanks to the oceanfront home office (with a smart TV) and the window-lined bonus room where you can sketch or lift weights as you watch the waves roll into Cantus Cove. In the evenings, watch movies and play Ping-Pong and foosball in the game room before retiring to five inviting bedrooms.
The expansive primary suite is on the main floor, offering its own smart TV, an en suite bathroom, and direct access to the outdoors. Four more bedrooms - all with balcony access - are upstairs, including another primary suite with an en suite spa-like bathroom and a smart TV, the office (which has a gel-topped American Leather sofabed and doubles as a bedroom), and two more oceanfront guest rooms. The sixth sleeping space awaits downstairs in the basement, which also has its own windows and ocean views.
Things to Know
The fireplace, sauna, and greenhouse are not for guest use.
Please watch your step on all walkways (which get slippery) and stay away from cliff edges. Do not attempt to access Cantus Cove. Its cliffs are unstable and the cove gets sleeper waves that can wash people out to sea.
Streaming services are available with guests' own account credentials.
The twin bedroom and office share a bathroom.
Outside activities and noise levels must not disturb the neighbors.
Alcohol is not permitted anywhere except the house and back patio. No smoking or vaping of any substances on the property (indoors or outdoors); in addition, illegal substances of any kind are prohibited.
No more than 12 people may be on the property at any time.
This is not an appropriate venue for raucous parties. This property is closely monitored, and we appreciate your respect and cooperation in helping preserve the serenity of this area.
Violation of any of these rules may result in immediate termination of your rental agreement and the requirement to depart the property immediately.
Other Things to Note:
Check-in Form: To ensure a smooth and secure stay for all guests, we kindly require completion of our short check-in form after booking. This includes signing our standard rental agreement and verifying guest and payment information. It only takes a few minutes and helps us prepare the home for your arrival.
