Loved the stay and especially the easy access to the trails in the state park. Also loved the hot tub and outdoor shower. My son loved the kitchen, the big window and the layout where he could cook and still engage with everyone in the room.
Tucked away in a lovely quiet neighborhood! We loved the easy access to Mendo and Ft Bragg. The hot tub with the amazing redwoods in the background was such a treat. Cozy, clean and enjoyable for a family weekend getaway.
This house was perfect for my family. My older daughter keeps talking about the yellow house, and wants to go back. We'll definitely try to book this place again in the future!
My boyfriend and I are still talking about how much we loved our stay. So clean and beautiful! We absolutely hope to stay here again when we return to the area.
Wonderful house set in a very quiet neighborhood a short drive to Mendocino town and Fort Bragg. We loved the house layout, yard and deck, gas BBQ and of course the hot tub. Main bedroom was a bit musty likely because it’s in the shady side/back of house. The house was very clean and had all of the kitchen tools and other amenities we needed for myself, Husband, and elderly mother. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it, and we would stay again when we are in the area.
Very clean home with comfortable beds, beautiful surroundings and amazing backyard. The hot tub had clear instructions to use and the home had everything we needed.
Beautiful part of the Earth on the northern California coast near the most quaint village on the ocean. Home was safe, quiet, well equipped, clean and comfortable. We had a terrific early Thanksgiving feast. I would definitely return!
We really enjoyed staying here. The woods and being so close to the ocean was exacting what we wanted. It was the perfect distance from Mendicino and Ft Bragg. Although we weren’t able to use the hot tub because of an unforeseen breakdown of it, we appreciated the quick response to the problem. We hope one day we will be able to come back. This place is a delight.🌺
Property is located uphill of Hwy 1, just high enough to clear the ocean fog in Mendocino town. The front deck faces West/Southwest; sunny and bright. Easy few minutes into town, with Mendoza's market happy to provide whatever you might need; including a butcher counter. While we vowed to eat out all of the nights we were there, the property kitchen is the best equipped of any property we've stayed.
The property was ready earlier than check-in time. Although we were not able to take advantage of that, we appreciate it. The house was very clean and very well provisioned. The smart TV and all appliances and amenities worked well. The location is spacious, quiet, and beautiful. There is somewhat of a musty smell in the house, but we burned a scented candle and that helped. Also, there were quite a few spiders inside and out, which is to be expected considering the location near the woods. The windows in the bathrooms only have a sheer curtain and do not provide adequate privacy from outside. Overall, it’s a very nice location and we would stay there again.
This place felt like home away from home. It had all the amenities we needed during our stay with our toddler. There’s books and games in the laundry room, two toilets, and the hot tub was amazing. We took advantage of the trail system behind the house. The kitchen was very well stocked, we even hosted a dinner party with some local friends. I hope if we come back to this area that the house would be available again, it was easily one of our most positive rental experience all around! And we have rented all over the world!
The location is awesome as it is nestled in a super quiet neighborhood and has a redwood forest in the backyard. It is super clean and feels like home. The listing states there's a private hot tub, though a long-term studio rental on the property has a diffused view of the tub and shower area. I'd have preferred a solid fence between the two places. The backyard is adjacent to amazing redwoods and offers an easy walk down the trail to beautiful coastal coves and bluffs.
Hiker's Delight is everything it said it would be. Its back gate leads directly into Russian Gulch State Park with well maintained trials through the redwoods and ferns that access the beach/cliffs as well as an inland waterfall. The property is well maintained, well stocked, easy to use, comfortable, quite, and clean. It is very close to Mendocino so groceries and other venues were nearby. You barely see any of the neighboring structures and the detached dwelling was empty when we were there. We had fast and comprehensive support from the VACASA management company, although a personal touch like a "Things to Do" folder and a warning/advisory about local road closures/repairs would have been nice. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful home with open floor plan that was perfect for almost 3 toddler. House had quality decor and furniture similar to a luxury hotel. With to die for beds and bedding. Backyard backed up to trails but still enclosed so little one could play safely. Found the kitchen comfortable with nice pots and pans. The half bath is located next to laundry room on opposite side of house from the 2 bedrooms. Complimentary soaps etc. Walkable neighborhood with ocean views. Would stay again.
Booked thru vrbo, but property owned by 2nd party VACASA. I was a little concerned, but every little detail was perfect. There was actually a "live" host I was communicating with, although not sure where they were physically.. bit rest assured, no problems with that. The house was amazing! Very light and beautiful neighborhood. Very well appointed with kitchen items, and toiletries. Beds were super comfy. Hot tub smelled a little "funky", but was hot. Everything was pretty perfect
