The 1860 Pasco House: A Historic Sanctuary for the Soul
A Masterfully Restored 19th-Century Landmark | Private Waterfront | Your Adirondack Basecamp for Peace & Adventure
Welcome to the 1860 Pasco House. This is not just a vacation rental; it is a restorative sanctuary designed specifically with your peace in mind. Originally built for the master craftsmen of Chestertown’s historic Mill District, this "Upright-and-Wing" farmhouse has been meticulously restored to preserve its 19th-century soul while providing the modern essentials required for a flawless 21st-century stay. If you are looking to disconnect from the frantic pace of modern life and reconnect with yourself, your family, and the natural world, you have found your home.
DESIGNED FOR PEACE & RESTORATION The Pasco House was curated to be a place where you can truly "unplug." We believe that the environment you inhabit affects your spirit, and we have designed every corner of this home to help you unwind: • Historic Charm meets Modern Luxury: Walk across original wide-plank floors that have witnessed over 160 years of history. Feel the warmth of the natural light as it pours through windows that look out over our quiet, private pond. • A Sanctuary for the Soul: Whether it’s the soft textures of the linens or the quiet hum of the Adirondack breeze, the atmosphere here is one of intentional calm. • Chestertown Quiet Village Charm: To protect the serenity of our neighborhood, the village observes designated quiet hours and a strict no-fireworks policy. Here, the only "noise" you'll hear is the crackle of the fire or the call of a loon across the water.
PRIVATE WATERFRONT & OUTDOOR BLISS Our property offers a rare level of privacy and natural beauty, centered around our own private pond: • The Private Pond: Our quiet "catch and release" pond is a thriving ecosystem. Spend your afternoon in our private canoe, paddling past lily pads while spotting herons and turtles. • The Pondside Fire Pit: As the sun dips behind the trees, gather at the water’s edge. It is the perfect spot for s'mores, deep conversation, and stargazing in a sky free from city light pollution. • The Backyard Hot Tub Sanctuary: Tucked away at the rear of the house for maximum privacy, our hot tub offers a steaming retreat after a day of hiking. Soak away your stress while looking out over the water. • The Mill Street Porch: For a slower pace, take a seat on our covered porch facing quiet, historic Mill Street. It’s a sheltered, peaceful spot to enjoy a morning coffee or a rainy afternoon book. • Family Fun: A private swing set and an acre of green lawn provide the perfect playground for children to run and be free.
THE ADVENTURE BASECAMP: LOON LAKE & LAKE GEORGE While our home offers total seclusion, you are at the doorstep of the Adirondacks' greatest attractions: • Loon Lake (Under 2 Minutes Away): You are incredibly close to the water. The Loon Lake Public Beach is less than two minutes from your door, offering a sandy shore for swimming and sunbathing. • Boating Made Easy: Loon Lake Marina is also just two minutes away for boat rentals. If you prefer to bring your own, our massive private driveway easily fits 9+ vehicles, including large boat trailers. • Lake George (25 Minutes Away): Experience the "Queen of American Lakes." Head south for a day of Six Flags Great Escape, boardwalk arcades, steamboat cruises, and world-class dining, then return to the peace of your farmhouse sanctuary.
FISHING, GOLFING & HIKING Whatever your passion, the Pasco House is your perfect central hub: • Angler’s Paradise: Beyond our private pond, you are 5 minutes from the Schroon River (famous for Trout and Salmon) and minutes from the deep-water bass fishing of Loon and Brant Lakes. • Golfer’s Delight: We are surrounded by scenic courses, including Green Mansions, Cronin’s Golf Resort, and the legendary Sagamore Golf Course. • The Chester Challenge: Lace up your boots for the amazing hikes nearby, including Dynamite Hill and Meade Mountain, offering panoramic views of the high peaks.
THE INTERIOR: OLD WORLD CHARM, NEW WORLD COMFORT • The Chef’s Kitchen: Features our original farmhouse sink alongside modern appliances—ready for everything from a quick hiker's breakfast to a gourmet dinner. • Thoughtful Layout: A bright, accessible first-floor bedroom is perfect for those who avoid stairs, while two cozy upstairs bedrooms offer a "tucked-away" feel with their original small-scale windows. • The Whimsical Bonus Room: A dream for the kids, featuring a celestial star projector that turns the ceiling into a magical galaxy for bedtime.
THE CHARM OF CHESTERTOWN One of the best features of the Pasco House is its walkability. You can leave the car in the driveway and take a short, charming stroll into the heart of the village. • Dining: Enjoy a meal at the popular Tommy Guns (TG South) or grab a treat at the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor. • Shopping: Explore unique boutiques, antique shops, and local markets that define the charm of our historic town. Come make your own history at the Pasco House. Whether you are here to hike the peaks, fish the rivers, or simply sit by the pond and restore your soul, we invite you to experience the magic of the Adirondacks from our historic sanctuary. • Winter Bonus: If you're visiting in the colder months, we are centrally located for Gore Mountain skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing.Come make your own history at this 1860s gem.

Enjoyed the house and beautiful property! It was cozy and comfortable. Very close to Dynamite Hill and close to Gore Mountain for skiing. Hot tub was great after a long day skiing. Host was very accommodating and fast to answer any questions we had. Would stay again!
Absolutely amazing host. Kristen and her husband went above and beyond during our stay. The house is so cute inside and has everything you need. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of skiing. Gore mountain was 20 minutes away on nice paved roads.
