About this property

Luxe Lake Retreat Near Lake Geneva • King Suite • Fire Pit • Garage • Pets

Welcome to the Victorian that Makes Stress Disappear Faster than the Friend Who Owes You Money…

Drop the day at the door — the vacation version of you is already kicking off their shoes and making themselves at home.

The door swings open and sunlight sweeps over you like an epiphany — this isn’t just an entryway, it’s the ticket to a calmer, happier life.

Turn right and step into the sunroom — the house’s unofficial chiropractor, specializing in shoulder tension and the three tasks you’ve been avoiding so aggressively it’s now a hobby.

Here, people spill tea, spill secrets, solve life, cry a little, nap a lot, and talk to the plants like they’re long-lost relatives. Basically, the house’s emotional support room.

Keep wandering deeper into this cozy sanctuary and the leather cushions immediately start campaigning for a long, commitment-free sit — in this moment, you know you’ve reached…

The Living Room — historic beams and shutters from the iconic Wrigley mansion usher you in, glowing in sun-washed warmth for a space that feels both stunning and wonderfully inviting.

Turn left into a kitchen washed in sunlight and stone — and just like that, it feels like your own has been holding out on you for years…

This kitchen glows like it woke up early on purpose — working overtime to prove mornings deserve a second chance, and word on the street is the night owls are caving.

Beside it, the coffee bar waits like an unsung hero — the only reason mornings stay even remotely civil.

A full caffeination station because you deserve better than sad hotel packets — mugs, syrups, beans, teas… basically Starbucks without the attitude or the spelling of your name wrong.

And just beyond the coffee bar, the sweetest little nook invites you to sit — “grab a mug… we need to talk.”

Come for the caffeine. Stay because “starting the day early” is a work of fiction — a book we have zero interest in.

Step off the kitchen and into the room that takes one look at you, lowers the lights, and says, “Let’s try again tomorrow.”

Step into blankets that absorb your stress, sink into a tub that erases your to-do list…
and revel in the miracle that no one is yelling “Mooom!” from downstairs.

Pac-Man’s on duty tonight — welcome to your private spa sanctuary.

Just beyond the master, the main bathroom dims itself on sight and says, “Come on… let’s scrape the day off you.”

A bathroom that convinces every guest they’re suddenly a “long shower” person with a five-step skincare routine. Walk-in, warm, and way too good for your water bill at home.

Now slide open the barn doors to reveal a laundry nook so cute it almost tricks you into enjoying chores — mint cabinets, baskets that behave better than most family members, and a ‘Lost Socks’ sign calling out laundry crimes with alarming accuracy.

Had you veered left at the front door, you’d have stepped into a dining room so refined it convinces you you’re a full-blown dinner-party host — linen napkins, candlelit menus, the works… when your true specialty is plating takeout like it’s homemade.

At the top of the stairs, a quiet stretch of the house lets blankets rise to greet you while ambition is politely escorted out for “disturbing the peace.”

Three bedrooms, one full bathroom, and a desk live up here — silently judging the vacationer typing like they’re running a low-key CIA operation instead of the unplugged getaway they promised.

One step inside and each room makes its personality known…

#1 Sunlit calm and modern farmhouse charm convince you you’re the kind of person who folds quilts neatly, alphabetizes bookshelves, and wakes up early just because.
This has NEVER been you… but the room lies beautifully.

#2 A calm bedroom-office hybrid — morning-soft light, a touch of boho, and a desk that almost tricks you into opening your laptop. Almost.

#3 Soft light, cozy layers, and breezy bohemian calm — suddenly you hydrate properly, journal nightly, apply eight serums, and own pajamas that match on purpose.
Absolute fiction… but it feels real here.

All only steps from the bathroom — close enough that even 2 a.m. you can handle it.

And with a full bathroom on every level, you can finally break up with the morning bathroom line.
Warm light, calm vibes, and zero “I’ll be quick!” lies.
Vacation mornings: reclaimed.

Follow the stairs ↓ — way down, to where the 80s are very much alive and well…

Downstairs, time slows, neon glows, and someone takes Pac-Man so seriously you start questioning your entire relationship.

Buttery popcorn drifts, movie posters glow like the VHS covers you rented weekly.
It’s a full rewind into joy… with zero late fees this time.

There’s a corner for drinks, darts, and confidently debating rules that definitely don’t exist.

Down here, the beanbag takes prisoners and the books fully enable it — let’s be honest… escape was never part of your plan anyway.

And once you’ve accepted that you now live down here, you’ll be relieved to know the basement saw this coming and prepared accordingly.

We put a bathroom down here out of respect for your commitment to binge-watching. You’ve merged with the sectional and you’re three episodes from life-changing plot twists — pausing is for amateurs.

Around the corner and under the stairs, a magical little world awaits — where dogs lose their minds, kids disappear for hours (gloriously peaceful hours), and adults immediately start plotting how to get one at home.

The Dog House entrance comes complete with wreath, welcome mat, and a “no cats allowed” sign our Canine American friends refuse to take down.
Their world… we’re just living in it.

Now wander outside, where the air sweetens, the glow deepens, and the backyard shifts your mood in a way only evening can.

Out here, life gets good.

The grill sizzles, the lake breeze drifts across the lawn, and the hammock assumes full therapist responsibility:
“Let it go… no seriously, let it all go.”

String lights blink awake as the sun dips — creating the exact ambiance where time gets fuzzy, conversations get good, and everyone becomes a philosopher.

Cross into Yerkes’ paths and the world widens — open fields glowing at sunset, gentle hills rolling out like nature’s red carpet, and quiet paths perfect for wandering.

Where the backyard meets architectural wonder and some of nature’s prettiest scenes, it’s basically Disneyland for dogs who take exploring very seriously.

Head toward the front and wander a few minutes — the air softens, the light warms, and nature fades as small-town charm steps into the frame: Downtown Williams Bay (5-minute walk to both downtown and the lake).

Walkable, lake-kissed, and almost suspiciously charming, downtown Williams Bay covers every need — groceries, restaurants, coffee, salon, gas, banks, bars — all served with small-town friendliness that would send a Hallmark writer back to revisions.

Just ahead, the shoreline widens — smooth water, soft gold, and Geneva Lake beach views that make postcards pale in comparison.

And great news: this isn’t the Fontana or Lake Geneva circus where people hover like parking-lot vultures circling for towel real estate.

Once lakeside, the shore path begins — guiding you past mansions so close you feel like you should apologize… but it’s public, so you stroll on, gloriously unbothered by unfancy footwear.

A 22-mile trail tracing Geneva Lake drifts past estates, boathouses, and lawns so flawless they glance at your flip-flops like they’ve seen enough.

Follow it far enough and it ushers you into downtown Lake Geneva — transitioning you from estate-gazing to appetizer-grazing… the only purchase you’re qualified to make, honestly.

Lake Geneva (5-minute drive): touristy without the cheesy.
(I mean… it is Wisconsin. There will be cheese. You get it.)

Spend the day soaking up Wisconsin’s most iconic town — wandering, snacking, people-watching, and a little house-peeping — until you’ve had your fill of the buzz.

Then retreat to your Williams Bay sanctuary, where the shift from chaos to calm happens faster than a dog perks up at “do you wanna go for a walk?”

As the sun melts into the lake, the backyard slips into the quieter version of the day — the air relaxes and everything demanding your attention does too.

After a day on the lake, the fire pit goes rogue — flames hypnotize, chairs entrap, drinks stir chaos, and someone inevitably breaks their “I’m not telling that story” rule… a story denied by sunrise.

And when you wander back inside, evening settles in — softened edges, calmer everything, and a feeling that shuts you up just long enough to appreciate it.

Evening arrives, ushering in this Victorian’s Hallmark moment — the one where a big-city girl questions her life choices after one breath of small-town air and an “accidental” run-in with her high-school flame. Pastel dusk pours over the siding, warm light gathers behind the windows, and the glow feels real because it is.

When it’s time to head home, don’t be surprised if this house is harder to leave than expected.
It tends to do that.

But don’t worry — the hammock, the trails, and the lake are already plotting your sequel.

Spoiler: you’ll return… and when you do, this Victorian will pick up exactly where you left off.
So until next time — she’ll be here, pretending she doesn’t refresh the driveway every ten seconds, and keeping the porch light on just in case.

About the host

Hosted by Sheryl Kelley

Host profile image
We’re thoughtful hosts who care deeply about comfort, design, and the way a home actually lives. This Victorian wasn’t restored to be admired from a distance — it was restored to be used, enjoyed, and settled into. Every space was designed with intention, from the flow of the main level to the mix of quiet corners and gathering areas that let people spread out without feeling disconnected.

Our hope is that from the moment you arrive, the house does what it’s meant to do: slow the pace, soften the noise, and make it easy to be present. Whether that looks like long mornings in the sunroom, unhurried meals in the kitchen, movie nights downstairs, or evenings by the fire, the home adapts naturally to how you want to spend your time.

We’re always available if needed, but we believe the best stays come with space and ease. Think: a warm welcome, clear communication, zero hovering, and a home that feels intuitive and comfortable from the first step inside — the kind that makes settling in feel effortless and leaving feel a little harder than expected.

Why they chose this property

Williams Bay is one of those places that quietly wins you over. It’s calm, walkable, and full of character — a true lake town that still feels lived-in, not overrun. The pace is slower here; streets are lined with historic homes and trees, and the lake feels like part of everyday life rather than a spectacle you have to compete for.

From the house, it’s an easy walk to Geneva Lake, the lake path, downtown shops, coffee, restaurants, and everyday essentials. You can start the morning by the water, wander into town without ever moving your car, and still return to a neighborhood that feels peaceful and residential.

When you’re in the mood for more activity, downtown Lake Geneva is just a short drive away — close enough for dining, shopping, and events, but far enough that coming back to Williams Bay feels like stepping back into calm. It’s the best of both worlds: access when you want it, quiet when you don’t.

Williams Bay isn’t touristy or cheesy. It’s comfortable, charming, and grounded — a place that makes it easy to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and enjoy the lake the way it was always meant to be enjoyed.

What makes this property unique

This Victorian offers something that’s increasingly rare: character and comfort, without feeling like a home you’re afraid to actually live in. Original details and historic elements are balanced with thoughtful updates, so the house feels warm, functional, and genuinely easy to relax in — not staged for show or tiptoed around.

The layout supports how people really spend time together. Multiple gathering spaces make it easy to connect or spread out, whether that’s slow mornings in the sunroom, long conversations in the kitchen, movie nights downstairs, or evenings outside by the fire pit. A private whirlpool suite, finished lower level, and dog-friendly touches add comfort in ways that feel intentional, not overdone.

What truly sets this home apart is how naturally it adapts to different rhythms. It works just as well for relaxed weekends, longer stays, or multigenerational trips — offering space to settle in, places to come together, and an atmosphere that encourages you to fully relax. It’s a house with personality, flexibility, and an ease that makes it feel like home almost immediately.
