My sisters and I had an incredible stay. Our host was very welcoming. We all slept in the yurts that had warm comfortable beds. Hiking was super with breath-taking scenery. Hot springs were a highlight. We’ll be going back.

To say we found the perfect place for our family time together doesn’t quite do it justice. China Ranch Date Farm house and yurts were exactly what our family needed. We unplugged from the online world, breathed in the fresh desert air, and truly reconnected with each other. Our kids had the freedom to explore the vast open space, which made the experience even more special. Attending the Dark Sky Festival was unforgettable, and seeing Lake Manly was absolutely breathtaking. Each day, we hiked in a different direction—highly recommend the slot canyon! We couldn’t get enough of the date shakes, and don’t forget to pick up some souvenirs from the gift shop. The space was perfect for relaxing, cooking, sharing meals, and playing games together. There was more than enough room for everyone, and the fresh flowers in almost every room were such a thoughtful, welcoming touch. The amenities and warm hospitality made us feel comfortable and cared for—never like we were in the middle of nowhere. We’ll definitely be making this a yearly destination for our big family.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this beautiful reflection. Reading your words truly touched my heart. It means everything to know that the house and yurts offered your family the space to unplug, breathe, and reconnect in a real way. This land has a quiet way of inviting presence, and I love hearing that your children felt free to explore and that each day unfolded with new adventures — especially the slot canyon and Lake Manly. The Dark Sky Festival is such a special moment out here, and I’m so glad you were able to experience it together. I’m also happy to hear the home felt welcoming and comfortable — the flowers, the shared meals, the games, the simple rhythms. My intention has always been for guests to feel cared for and at ease, held by the land rather than isolated by it. You and your family are welcome back anytime, and it would be an honor to host you again when this place calls you back. Thank you for treating the space with such presence and appreciation. Warmly, Elena

I work closely with people in my everyday life, and I love what I do—but it means I also deeply value places that truly restore me. China Ranch is that place for me.

I’m someone who loves sunrise with a strong cup of tea (or coffee), star-filled skies, meaningful conversation, nature walks, and the kind of quiet that feels restorative instead of empty. When life feels noisy, demanding, or overly connected, this landscape offers exactly what I need: spaciousness, clarity, simplicity, and a chance to recharge both body and mind.

That’s part of why I love hosting here. I know there are others who give a lot of themselves in their work, families, businesses, or communities and need a real pause—not just a vacation filled with activity, but genuine breathing room.

If you’re self-motivated, enjoy uninterrupted time, and know how nourishing it can be to step away from constant human noise, technology, and demands, this may feel like exactly the kind of home away from home you’ve been looking for.

Why they chose this property

China Ranch is unlike what many people imagine when they think of the desert. Yes, there’s the dramatic open sky, mountains, and endless vistas—but there’s also an oasis quality here: date palms, wildlife, changing seasons, quiet beauty, and a rhythm that invites you to slow down.

What I love most is the spaciousness. There’s something about being able to see for miles with no visual clutter that clears the mind and settles the nervous system. It feels both grounding and expansive at the same time. We’re at the gateway to Death Valley, with incredible nature all around, yet Las Vegas is only about 90 minutes away if you want a complete contrast. It’s a rare balance of solitude, beauty, and accessibility.

What makes this property unique

China Ranch Ranch House Retreat isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to retreat.

During much of the year, guests come for adventure, exploration, and desert beauty. But summer creates something especially unique: a natural personal retreat space. The desert asks you to simplify your rhythm—early morning walks, quiet evenings under extraordinary stars, and uninterrupted daytime hours for writing, reading, creating, resting, or deep thinking.

For writers, creatives, remote workers, or anyone at a life crossroads, this can be an unexpectedly perfect place to focus. The ranch itself feels safe, grounded, and welcoming—more home than rental. If you’ve been craving a place to work on your book, rethink your next chapter, or simply step away from the noise of everyday life, this space was made for that.
