Historic property with lots of charm

We had a wonderful two-week holiday in this delightful 400-year-old property. We love characterful old properties, and this one has it in abundance. As part of our holiday we visited the Open Air museum at Gutach, and noted the similarity of the farmhouses there to this one. My sister appreciated the framed illustrated certificates in her bedroom for members of the family that lived here in the early 20thC - a first communion, a marriage, and a poignant tribute to the son who was killed in action in WW1. The hosts are fabulous. They were very friendly and very helpful. We were particularly impressed that they came to check we were ok after a violent storm that had felled some trees and damaged some houses in the area (thankfully not ours). Others have mentioned the lack of a sofa and cosy armchairs. We simply brought some of the outdoor armchairs inside, and were happy with that. The deer in the neighbouring field were a wonderful unexpected addition to our experience, particularly close by every day when the farmer came to feed them. We enjoyed several hikes from the house, our favourite being a hike to Neuenweg in the neighbouring valley where we enjoyed lunch at Rosenstübchen, a very pretty guesthouse and outdoor café that to my delight included several vegan options (I’m allergic to milk) - a delicious wild mushroom soup and an incredible vegan Tiramisu! Altogether we found this a perfect holiday base with lots of charm and stunning views.

Great location near a few farm type houses (below us) with hills behind us. Beautiful scenery and ideal for walks. Only about 5 - 10 minutes to the supermarket and outdoor public swimming pool. The house is very interesting, lots of history. We had a very nice stay - thank you.

Wir haben uns in dem Ferienhaus sehr wohl gefühlt, besonders die direkte Umgebung hat es uns angetan! Es waren sehr schöne Tage die leider zu schnell vergingen!

Prachtige locatie

Wij waren met z'n vieren, dan is de ruimte binnen prima. Wij vinden het geen 6 of 8 persoons huis. Wel veel slaapplekken. Boven moet je echt bukken. Wij vonden de prijs wat hoog..

Entspannung pur

Die Unterkunft war sauber und das Nötigste war vorhanden.Super Platz zum Grillen hinterm Haus und eine schöne Aussicht vorne auf dem Balkon am Morgen.Im Online-Inserat müsste nur der Hinweis sein, dass hier mit Holz selbst geheizt wird. Uns hat das aber nicht gestört.Ansonsten ist sind die Deckenbalken tief und man stößt sich die ersten Tage am Kopf. Da hatte der Kleinste von unserer Gruppe was zu lachen.Sehr freundliche Gastgeber und auf alle Anliegen und Frage wurden schnell reagiert.Sehr zu empfehlen.

Gemütlicher Schwarzwaldhof

Die Einrichtung mag schlicht sein, aber die Wohnstube ist urgemütlich. Wenn es draußen schneit, so wie glücklicherweise bei uns im Dezember, die imposanten Hirsche vor dem Haus weiden und im Ofen das Holzfeuer brennt, dann ist schön zu zehnt am langen Tisch zu spielen. Die Gegend hat so viel zu bieten. Bei uns u.a. eine Wanderung auf den verschneiten Belchen oder ein Ausflug auf den Feldberg.Die Vermietung war unkompliziert und freundlich. Ich kann den Hof nur empfehlen, für kleine und größere Gruppen.

Super Urlaub

Wir haben einen super Urlaub gehabt, sehr schönes Haus mit alles drin was man braucht, sehr ruhig, nebenan Rehe die man nach Absprache füttern kann, wunderbare Umgebung zum Wandern und Vieles zu Unternehmen/besichtigen. Auch das Restaurant der super nette und gastfreundliche Familie Kiefer ist sehr zu empfehlen. Wir werden nochmal wieder kommen. Liebe Grüsse aus Ostfriesland

Great Time in house with character

We had a great time with our family (party of 11) in this wonderful farmhouse. The house is full of character and one can imagine going back some years in time when staying here. The house was very clean and the wood-stove central heating works well and is easy to operate. The surroundings offer great hiking opportunities and some nice old towns to visit.

Berge, Hirsche und Wald

Eine Woche war viel wenig... Das Haus ist phantastisch, wenn auch sehr hellhörig. Aber mit der richtigen Gesellschaft... Immer wieder. Schöne Wandertouren. Gehörnte Nachbarn... Tolles Wetter, von Winter bis Frühling mit leichtem Sonnenbrand alles drin. Feuer und nette Menschen und Nachbarn, die sich auch an Musik beim Feuer nicht stören... Und die Gastgeber... Gleich auch noch mit lecker Wirtschaft... Gern wieder! Vielen Dank für die tollen Zeit!

Silvester

Ein wirklich schöner Aufenthalt geht zu Ende. Wir waren über Silvester vor Ort. Die Kommunikation mit den sehr netten Vermietern war total unkompliziert und freundlich. Den Kids hat es super gefallen und die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Das abschießen von Feuerwerk wurde mit den Vermietern vorher abgeklärt ( steht ja Wild genau neben der Hütte ) und war kein Problem. Das Heizen mit dem Ofen hat prima geklappt. Wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Urlaub im Grünen

Hatten einen sehr schönen, entspannten Urlaub. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig und wunderschön. Das Haus ist toll gelegen, wenn man gern wandert. Die Kinder (6 und 9 Jahre alt) mochten das verwinkelte, alte Haus. Wir Erwachsenen fühlten uns auch sehr wohl. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Erholungsoase

War eine abwechslungsreiche und schöne Woche mit Wandern, Spiel- und Tierpark besuche sowie gemütliche Spieläbende rundum schön. Wer gerne ruhe braucht und einfach sich erholen will ist dies die beste Alternative.

Einen schöne Gegend mit Wanderwegen direkt von der Haustür ab. Freundliche Betreuung durch den Vermieter. Viel Platz im Haus. Einfach und praktisch eingerichtetes früheres Bauernhaus. Ideal für Ferien fernab vom Trubel für Naturfreunde. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im nahe gelegenen Schönau ausreichend vorhanden.

Ruhiger Rückzugsort in malerischer Landschaft

Wir haben uns in diesem gemütlichen Bauernhaus sofort wie Zuhause gefühlt. Die Liegenschaft liegt in einer malerischen Landschaft, die zu ausgedehnten Wanderungen einlädt. Dank der ruhigen Lage konnten wir uns von der Hektik des Alltags bestens erholen. Für Leute, die gerne die Natur und Ruhe geniessen wollen, der perfekte Ort für Ferien.

Basic en toch alle voorzieningen

De locatie is werkelijk fantastisch, midden in de natuur met een beek naast het huis. Het huis zelf is een oude boerderij met een nog authentieke deel en hooizolder bijvoorbeeld. En een houtgestookte CV (rekening mee houden: je moet zelf de aanmaakhoutjes nog hakken!). Verder is alles voorhanden wat je nodig hebt. Een goed ingerichte moderne keuken, een zeer ruime badkamer. Het enige wat we misten was een lekkere hangbank of een paar fijne stoelen. In de woonkamer is alleen een eettafel met stoelen aanwezig. We hebben uiteindelijk toch den paar campingstoeltjes gekocht om wat comfortabeler te kunnen zitten.

Urtümlichkeit und Gemütlichkeit in traumhafter Lage

Wir, eine Familie aus dem Saarland (2 Erw.+2 Teenager) verbrachten wunderschöne Osterferien 2023 in einem urtypischen Schwarzwaldhaus in traumhafter Lage (die vielen Hirsche hinterm Haus sind der Hammer....wir haben sie täglich nach Absprache füttern dürfen). Martina und Markus Kiefer sind excellente Gastgeber. Absolut unaufdringlich, aber wenn gebraucht, sofort da, super lieb und total hilfsbereit. Darüber hinaus führen die beiden auch in der Nähe ein bezauberndes Berg- Restaurant mit leckerem Essen und Getränken. In Schönau (nächster größerer Ort) bekommt man alles, was man zum täglichen Bedarf benötigt. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
