The small town of Freital lies embedded in gentle hills and forests, bordering on Dresden in the foothills of the Erzgebirge. The Saxon Elbland, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains with the National Park Saxon Switzerland, the Zittau Mountains and the fascinating region of Lusatia can be reached quickly and easily thanks to the excellent transport connections. Here you will find this beautiful holiday apartment for 4 to 5 persons with three bedrooms at the edge of the forest. The cosmopolitan city of Dresden with its Semper Opera House, numerous museums, theatres, restaurants and events is right on the doorstep. A trip with the oldest and largest paddle steamer fleet, the "White Fleet" on the Elbe, along the Elbe castles, is highly recommended. Also visit the probably most beautiful dairy shop in the world (Pfund "s "Molkerei") in the inner new town, the party and scene quarter of the city of Dresden. The Elbe Sandstone Mountains offer hikers worthwhile tours and great views of the surrounding area at any time of the year. Experienced climbers will find various climbing possibilities on the rock in dry weather. The Erzgebirge with numerous winter sports possibilities is another worthwhile destination. Fans of the narrow-gauge railway are highly recommended to take a ride with the oldest "Weißeritztalbahn", which is in regular service, from Freital-Hainsberg to the eastern Erzgebirge to Kipsdorf. Every year at the end of June the narrow gauge festival takes place in Freital.The Day of the Saxons is celebrated in Freital in 2021 and at the same time the "100-year" celebration. By the way, for all cyclists, not far from the holiday domicile, a beautiful cycle path leads along the rocks into the Tharandt Forest with its forest botanical garden. Guided walks are offered by the "Waldgeist" tour guide Steffen Günther. This is the personal recommendation of your host! Directly behind the house a marked hiking trail runs along the Vorholzbach. The map in the courtyard indicates the location. A walk through the forest along the Vorholzbach with a panoramic view over Freital and a stop at the "Rollmopsschänke" with home-style cooking and beer garden round off the walk. In good weather the sun terrace at the Koi pond is inviting. This is located directly on the property.
