The tranquility and expansive views make you think you are away from the rest of the world….. yet it is only a three minute drive to the main road. Overlooking the famous “ Whales” reef, it is conveniently located just minutes by car from restaurants, shops and several other famous beaches as Playa Bonita, Playa Las Ballenas and Playa Punta Poppy. Villa Solymar not only offers to its guests privacy and a secluded place but also the many outdoor activities available.
The liberating 180-degree vista provides fantastic views of the ocean ,sunsets, stars and exotic local flora and fauna, house is visited from many hummingbirds and hundreds of beautiful butterfly. A five minutes drive provides access to the typical village of Las Terrenas with local restaurants, supermarkets , banks and bars. Dining in the area is diverse and eclectic and our staff will provide any and all assistance in finding the best locations.

As soon you pass the remote controlled gate of the main entrance, you 'll find yourself surrounded by luxurious vegetation and an impressive 2 minutes drive will take you up to the top of the hill where Villas Solymar is located.
The interior of the villa, with slate floors, dark wood stair and doors, coupled with natural hues and colors, afford a calm and grounded sense as framed by contemporary surroundings. Hand crafted, custom furnishings and artwork are mix together; the result is a blend of casual elegance and comfortable luxury. The configuration of the villa provides privacy and comfort for all of its guests. All 3 bedrooms enjoy a wonderful ocean or mountain view and are all located on the upper floor. On lower floor there is a large contemporary living room, a dining table for 6 persons and a huge and modern state of the art kitchen with one of the most impressive view! A huge terrace and an infinity pool complete this floor.
Through the use of windows and glasses, Villa Solymar embues an open and airy sense that afford continuous breezes through the day and night anyway ceiling fans and air conditioned are available in every bedroom.
Daily housekeeping is always provided for guest comfort and ease. 24 hour emergency services are available in the unlikely event a need should arise.
Other concierge services that can be coordinated includes massages, yoga sessions, bachata and merengue classes and also the services of a chef to prepare special events or special meals.

The house was beautiful and the scenery was breathtaking. Ramon and Albania was great !

It was a easy and wonderful experience, will definitely be back to this property. We we’re able to get a massage right outside enjoying the breeze and beautiful view. Having homemade cooked meals prepared by Albania and having Ramon there for anything we needed was awesome. It was a retreat for us and being 5 minutes from the beach and restaurant was a plus.

What an amazing property and experience!

The property was absolutely beautiful but was second only to the amazing service provided by the property manager Ramon. I can not say enough good things about him. He was extremely helpful from helping us get food, to directions, transportation and recommendations. The property was cleaned everyday. The view for the balcony were spectacular. The pool was private and amazing. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a private getaway or even time with family.

5 Star Villa!

Our time in Villa Solymar was wonderful! It is a clean, comfortable and peaceful place. Waking up to the spectacular view was heavenly! And, the sunsets are beautiful too. It is well taken care by a super friendly professional staff. Albania made sure everything was clean and tidy. The bonus is that she is an amazing cook! Ramon was very helpful and was always available to answer questions or make suggestions. They made our stay extra special!

I couldn't have stay at a better place . The house is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. The pictures dont do justice of how beautiful the house is. The owner sandra is very attentive and always communicated with me right away. Ramon is the person in charge very nice man and very helpful. The cleaning lady was also super nice and kept the house super clean. I would definitely be returning. I already have family members asking me about the house because of the pictures i posted. Ohhh and the View is breathtaking 😍 ✨️ 💖

Fantastic Experience

We had a great time and the house was spectacular. Amazing views with beautiful lush grounds. Beds were extremely comfortable and had some the best night sleep in a while. Never used the AC as the house is nicely ventilated by the breeze. No difficulties at all getting to town and to the beaches. The private road is a little steep but not difficult at all and does not require a 4-wheel drive. Sandra was always available and accommodating. Checked in a couple or times to make sure we were having good stay. A special thanks to Ramon who is a very nice and welcoming human being. Always available to help with a great smile. The lady that attended house (please excuse me as I forget the name) was also very nice with a warm. A great team working at the house. We (family of four) had a wonderful stay. We will be back. Many thanks for having us rent this property.

Expansive ocean views!

We rent VRBO vacation homes about 4-5 time’s a year around the world and this villa is by far one of our favorites! It is absolutely gorgeous and exceeded our expectations in every way! The villa sits on top of a small mountain and has incredible views of the ocean, mountains, jungle and sunsets. We spent every minute outside on the spacious covered patio and pool deck. The patio has a very large dining table for meals, a wicker seating area for relaxing, a bistro table and chairs for drinks/games, a macrame hammock, two cushioned lounge chairs by the pool and a covered stone charcoal grill. There’s even a very large shuttered opening in the kitchen, above the sink, that serves as a pass through to the patio dining when opened. There’s a full ocean view there too! Why go indoors? The covered patio was just as wonderful in the morning sipping coffee, listening to the jungle showers which were always followed by sun and rainbows. What a treat! The master and second bedrooms have sliding glass doors to balconies with ocean views. There is a large jetted tub in the master bath with a rainfall shower head. Very spa-like! Each bedroom has an air conditioner, but we never used them as the ceiling fans and ocean breezes kept the house cool. The house is decorated with modern coastal furnishings, fresh tropical flowers and travertine tile floors. Gorgeous! The outside landscaped gardens are lush and manicured with flowers and jungle foliage. It’s all so beautiful! Beyond that, the house is exceptionally clean with housekeeping services daily and a maintenance/security person on premises 24/7 in a private, separate area on the property. The house is in a new, gated community with code entry and a guard. The town and beaches are about 1 mile away so you’ll need a car. We liked shopping for groceries at Super Pola and went surfing at Playa Bonita everyday. The beach has lounge chairs, surfboard and boogie board rentals and is excellent for families with beginner surfers. The house is only 30 minutes from Samana El Catey airport. I would recommend this villa 100%. We will be back!

Beautiful Property

The views from the house are stunning! Angie and Ramone kept the house and outdoor space extremely clean and were very helpful. I would recommend this house for your stay in Las Terrenas. The house is in great shape, the outside space (where you will spend most of your time when at the house) is functional and stunning. Ramone and Angie are around the house but are not intrusive and are always willing to assist whether it is for a beach chair, a surf board or any item you may need. The neighborhood is gated and the security guards are friendly and keep you secure. Overall a great experience!

Amazing Views & Stunning Villa

Villa Solymar is big enough to accommodate a family, lots of attention to detail could be found around the villa and the views from the deck are beyond amazing. We had plumbing issues with one of the bathrooms where the attendant Ramon had to call a plumber on the first night. One of the LED lights in this bathroom was out and Ramon indicated that this could not be fixed because it would require replacing the entire fixture. Upon check in, Ramon advised that we could not use Villa towels for beach purposes, which we found odd because who picks beach towels when traveling overseas to the Caribbean, but we were able to contact the property manager to get this sorted out. The cleaning lady, Angie also advised us that she can only provide us with clean towels every three days, as per the property managers request. We also found this odd but just dealt with it. On two of our nights the dogs downstairs spent the entire nights barking but Ramon took care of the issue for the other nights. Our biggest concern was the fact that the sliding door that faces the balcony/deck area doesn’t have a lock and remains open the entire time. Other than these small mishaps, we were pleased with our stay and really enjoyed Las Terrenas.

Stunning property, incredible service and excellent value

Excellent vacation! The property is really stunning ( much better than it shows in the pictures!). You have there everything you can wish for a comfortable and relaxing stay, and then... you have the amazing location, the incredible views, and an impeccable service. When I say impeccable service I refer to the fact that during our stay, apart from keeping the property in pristine condition, I always had the feeling that both Ramon and Angie genuinely cared about us having a wonderful stay without being intrusive at all. I have travelled a lot around the world over the last 20 years, I definitely think this has been one of the better places I have stayed in and definitely, the best value for money. Just imagine: wake up early, have a breakfast on the huge terrace overlooking the mountains and the sea, then jump to the pool to fully wake up and loosen up your muscles. Then, of you go to explore any of the many amazing beaches on the area, have something to eat at any of the beach bars... back to the Villa, everything has been cleaned and tidied, even your dirty clothes had been washed and hung! Still sunny and lovely to get into the pool again, have a beer, read and relax in the terrace area before you go out again for dinner to one of the wonderful restaurants in the area.... ( I particularly liked “La Terrace”). Just checked out now. I do not normally go back to the same places I have already visited as I always thought there are many new places to discover around the world, however, I am certain that I would be back to this wonderful place.

Amazing home, people and place

We just finished a week at Sandea’s villa. Our family of 5 found this home perfect for our needs with plenty of space. The home is as is in the photos, no surprises, it exceeded our expectations. Sandea is a beautiful host. So responsive and knowledgeable about the island and it’s hidden gems. From the moment we landed she checked in and didn’t stop checking in on our comfort, with tour reservations, dinner recommendations and even went out of her way to make sure we had a New Year’s eve reservation. Ramon is a helpful caretaker, running to town for us at a moments notice. And Angie, won our hearts. Keeping the home and our things clean everyday and making us amazing Dominican meals most nights. We loved it here and we will be back for sure!!! Thank you Sandea!!!

Amazing

Stayed at this beautiful villa along with my husband and friends. As soon as we walked into the door we were amazed at the beautiful view. We saw pictures prior, but in person it definitely made an even bigger impact. The owner Sandra was always available via phone to answer any questions or concerns and is very sweet. Ramon the house caretaker, respected our privacy and was always available if needed. He also ensured that every morning we walked out to a clean pool/terrace. Raquel the house lady was very hospitable and sweet. Overall we had a wonderful time and hope to be back soon.

Wonderful home and stay

This is a beautiful home with gorgeous views and nice breezes to keep it cool and the tropical bugs at bay. Our family of 4 with two teenagers spent almost a week here over spring break. There was plenty of lounging space for all of us and very nice bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to have their private time, as well. We loved that the bedroom windows had bug screens, something that is not common down there, so that due to the nice breezes and ceiling fans in all the bedrooms we didn’t even need the AC. Would highly recommend this house and stay again. The staff was great, we even got a flat tire and Ramon brought someone to the house to fix it for us - couldn’t have been more convenient. Other reviews talk about the road and hill leading up to the home. While not paved the entire way and steep, we didn’t find the road a challenge, at all.

Absolutely Wonderful House! Not less than sensational!

This property is amazing, you will be extremely happy choosing Villa Solymar as your vacation get away. We (4 adults) stayed there for 2 weeks and still felt like that wasn't enough time to explore this incredible location. The views from this magnificent house are breathtaking, the privacy is so relaxing and the staff is far beyond comparable. The pool was so tranquil and the terrace area, (where we practically lived), was incredible. The beaches are fairly close, we rented a vehicle for our entire stay, which I would highly recommend if you want to tour this beautiful region and enjoy the culture. Driving can be challenging, especially throughout the towns, but I wouldn't let it discourage any competent driver from renting a four wheel drive vehicle and appreciating the DR. Sandra is an extraordinary person , we had weather issues trying to fly out of the states, and she was more than accommodating to our needs. Ramon and Librada felt more like part of our little family than the property's staff. We had so much fun cooking and BBQ'ing at this property, as well as enjoying quite a few meals out. We can't wait to come back next year for another phenomenal stay. Thank you all for sharing Villa Solymar with us..

Fantastic property in a tranquil setting with gorgeous views

We had the pleasure of staying at the gorgeous Villa Solymar in January 2019. Situated at the top of a steep hill with simply breathtaking views, this modern, well decorated home gets a 5 out of 5 from us. It has all the amenities you could need or want, from a jet tub to a well-appointed kitchen, it invites you to move in, relax and enjoy. We spent most of our time outdoors on the large terrace which also came fully furnished with a large dining table, patio furniture and my wife’s favorite, a comfy hammock! To top it all off, there’s an infinity pool that is prefect to slip into to cool off when sunbathing under the beautiful Dominican sky. Ramon, the onsite caretaker of the home kept everything in perfect condition, helped us with any questions we had and was always available to do more if needed. Librada the housekeeper kept the interior of the house in pristine condition and best of all, made our bed every day! Simply stated, this house is fabulous, the views divine and the staff, a luxury. We would recommend and return to this house in a heartbeat.

Villa Solymar was a great pick for our family, away from the hustle and bustle and noise of Las Terrenas but close enough to the town and beaches. The house was fully equipped so it made life quite easy. Librada was there cleaning every day and Ramon took great care of the pool and other outside areas. We had a great time!

Incredible stay in paradise...

My wife and I were looking for a special place to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and did we ever find it! It looked like it was going to be such a fun time that we brought our 3 teenagers along with us! How to describe the property?! The ride up to the property from the main road was thrilling....the road beautifully winds through the jungle, up and down hills, with a steep hill at the very end, where beautiful Villa Solymar awaited us, at top Of the mountain. And beautiful it was! Ramon, the full-time, on the premises caretaker, did a great job of showing us the property, and then let us settle in. The house was in immaculate shape, with everything very clean and looking like new. Because we were getting in there after dark, we had no idea what a beautiful view was in our future. More on that later!! The house was fully furnished, with everything we could possibly need on our trip. The kitchen was fully functional, and allowed us to easily cook most of our meals during our stay. Each room/ bedroom was tastefully decorated...our master bedroom was especially spacious with a beautiful balcony, as well as an over-sized jacuzzi tub in the master bath. There were also several different eating areas, from inside in the great room, to outside on the huge balcony that stretches across the whole front of the house. We loved the windows that opened out from the kitchen to the balcony so that plates could be passed in and out with ease. The infinity pool was amazing, always perfectly clean, as Ramon was out before we all woke up, keeping it pristine and inviting to jump in, which we did many times throughout our stay. During our time, we had just a couple of small plumbing issues, which were quickly taken care of by Ramon. He was extremely helpful, and always willing to lend a hand, as was Librada, who was there daily to wash dishes, make beds, do laundry, etc., making this a true vacation indeed! Sandra gave us all kinds of helpful advice on where to go and what to do. On our second day, she recommended the beautiful and secluded Coson Beach—absolutely breathtaking in every way! We loved our stay at Villa Solymar, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly 5-star accommodation! Oh yes, and back to that view from Villa Solymar...unbelievable! At dusk, we were there most every night to watch the sun set in the distance over the beautifully warm Carribean waters, confirming our choice that we had picked the perfect place!

House and staff were very accommodating for our family. The Dominican culture and beauty will leave a lasting impression for our family. It was quite the adventure.

Breath taking views!

The vision is on top of a mountain where you can’t see the beach from your bedroom. This has to be one of the best beaches in the terrena.
