The “Spatzennest”
is located in the attic of the “Lindenhof,” right next to the “Kornspeicher,” and, like the latter, can be reached via the outdoor staircase. Until the addition was built in 2022, it was our smallest holiday rental, accommodating 2 guests. However, thanks to its connection to the new addition, it now offers more than 110 square metres of floor space, distributed among 3 bedrooms (3 double beds) and 2 bathrooms (1 bathroom with shower/toilet, 1 bathroom with only a toilet), the large kitchen-living room, and a storage room, making it ideal for larger groups of up to 6 people. If needed, an additional person can sleep on the pull-out sofa bed. In addition to the high-quality furnishings, guests at the “Spatzennest” can enjoy a special highlight: a large balcony from which they can take in a beautiful panoramic view of the fields and forests surrounding Bergenhausen.
You’ll find plenty of space in the kitchen-diner, which offers a very spacious living experience, thanks in particular to the open ceiling that extends all the way to the roof ridge. The floor is finished with solid oak herringbone parquet, and the built-in kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and electric kettle. A dining table for 6 people and a living area with a flat-screen TV round out the kitchen-dining area’s amenities.
On the west-facing gable end, 4 windows offer a beautiful view of the adjacent fields, as well as our open stable and the paddock for the horses.
The floors of the three bedrooms are covered with light-colored antique travertine marble tiles. Each of the three bedrooms features a 180-cm-wide beam bed made of rustic reclaimed wood. The bedroom located in the “old building” features a double-hung window that opens directly onto the balcony, which is reserved exclusively for guests of the “Spatzennest.” The other two bedrooms each feature a dormer with a large, floor-to-ceiling window.
The larger bathroom with a shower is also quite impressive in terms of its amenities: Here, too, tumbled antique marble, a beautiful natural stone sink, and rustic built-in cabinets create the perfect ambiance. This bathroom is complemented by a washing machine, ensuring clean laundry even during longer stays.
Another bathroom—which, however, only has a toilet and a sink—is located in the annex right next to the two bedrooms there.



The “Lindenhof Bergenhausen”
We warmly welcome you to the Lindenhof Bergenhausen in the beautiful Westerwald.
In the village of Bergenhausen, which has only 12 houses, we offer six spacious, non-smoking holiday apartments on our property—formerly a farm—accommodating various group sizes. You’re also welcome to bring your dog and board your horse on our spacious pastures or in our open stable. Bergenhausen is a district of the county seat Altenkirchen, which offers all the shopping and services of a medium-sized town. You can easily reach these in just a few minutes by car. Despite its close proximity to Altenkirchen, Bergenhausen has a very rural character, surrounded by forests, meadows, and the Wied River. This means you can set out directly from the house for a beautiful hike, bike ride, or horseback ride and enjoy nature. Incidentally, Bergenhausen itself has only one access road, which ends at the edge of town. So there is no through traffic. As mentioned, we offer 6 holiday apartments of varying sizes, each designed to accommodate different numbers of guests: The “Kornspeicher,” the “Wäller Stube,” the “Bauernkate,” the “Spatzennest,” the “Sattelkammer,” and the “Heuboden.”

On-site costs: 7 spacious non-smoking holiday apartments: Suitable for 4 to 7 guests, depending on the apartment. You’re also welcome to bring your pet—whether it’s a dog, cat, or even a horse. Check-in is available from 4:00 PM to midnight, and check-out is from midnight to 10:00 AM.
