About this property

Chalet Cabin in Cascades Wonderland near Crater Lake w/ EV Charger & Fast Wi-fi

Year-round adventure cabin tucked in the heart of Oregon's best lakes, snow, waterfalls, & wilderness! 10 mins to Odell & Crescent lakes, Willamette Pass ski area - 20 mins to Waldo Lake, PCT, Salt Creek Falls, and streams - 1 hr to Crater Lake or Newberry Crater. Go out paddling, hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, or swimming, and then relax in a quiet, cozy, easy-access cabin with 3 beds, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, good wi-fi, great books, level 2 EV charger, and a peaceful deck in the pines! DETAILS: The cabin is on a 1-acre property in the Diamond Peaks neighborhood, just 2 short turns off Hwy 58 near Crescent Lake Junction. It is very easy to get to, with a large gravel driveway that can accommodate 2-3 cars (but not much turnaround room for trailers). Access roads and driveway are all plowed during Winter, but AWD/4WD or snow tires are recommended in the icey season. ACCESS AND PARKING: Park near and enter the cabin through the rear, and use your key code to enter. The rear door enters into the kitchen with an entry area with hooks and boot mats. The cabin is carpeted and we appreciate your help in keeping it clean; we have a basket of sandals available for guest use. CELL SERVICE: Can be spotty in this area, but some carriers like AT&T get decent service. INTERNET / WIRELESS: We have a strong satellite internet + full house wireless with good speeds (250+MB down / 30+MB up) for video streaming and working. SMART TV: Use our Youtube TV account to watch television (includes most cable channels), or sign into whatever app you want to use (don't forget to sign out). There is no satellite or cable television. KITCHEN: The kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies, electric kettle, coffee maker, french press, and filters. Small propane grill available outside. DINING/LIVING ROOM: The open floorplan brings you from the kitchen/entry area into a dining area and living room with table, couch, swivel chairs, and a stone hearth and woodstove. You will find our curated library of local learning and lore books to help you explore the area and plan your outings! MAIN BATHROOM & WASHER/DRYER: A laundry room off of the dining/kitchen area connects to a full bathroom with shower and bathtub. All drains go to a septic system, so please make sure everyone in your group knows to flush only organic solids and toilet paper (everything else in the covered waste bins). Water heater is just a 30 gallon, so long or consecutive showers can deplete it. HEATING: In cooler seasons, the home is primarily heated by a ductless heat pump, operated with a remote control. Additional heating and ambience can be done with the wood stove, and the upstairs rooms have cadet wall heaters (require some care/caution, but usually not needed). A/C cooling is available, but generally not needed in the Summertime. DECK & FIREPIT AREA: Relax on a the peaceful South-facing deck with table and chairs, or when fire danger is low/moderate, have a small fire in the adjacent firepit area. MAIN BEDROOM (UPSTAIRS): Comfortable and roomy king-size bed with sleep number mattress that you can dial in to your perfect firmness for each side. South facing windows and balcony bring forest views and light in. SECOND BEDROOM (UPSTAIRS): A queen and twin size bed with a large North Facing window. HALF BATHROOM (UPSTAIRS) : Small half bathroom on second floor shares a door with each bedroom. PROPERTY BOUNDARIES: Our lot is narrow, and neighbors are near, so please stay near the house, and respect neighbors property / privacy. OWNERS SHOP/GARAGE BUILDING: The detached garage/shop is a private space for the owners storage/use. SAFETY: You will find 3 smoke alarms (stairway, bedrooms), 2 fire extinguishers (hearth area, kitchen), and a first aid kit. One of the smoke alarms is a smart alarm that will alert the owners remotely. HOA: Our place is part of a homeowners association that helps maintain the roads and deliver water and keep the neighborhood safe. This is why we ask that you be neighborly, fire-wise, and septic-safe! SECURITY CAMERA: We keep one security camera attached to our garage/shop that overlooks the cabin and driveway. GO HAVE FUN! - We've tried to thoughtfully set-up this cabin for your ease, comfort, and convenience, but the BEST part of the cabin is the LOCATION!! Go hike, pick, paddle, ski, bike, play, hunt, harvest, forest bathe, and crater-gaze in the amazing areas that are within minutes of the retreat. Then, come back, relax, recharge, refresh, and do it again!! GUEST ACCESS:
You can use all of the chalet cabin, except for the locked closet that we keep personal items in. The detached garage is not available for use, and we ask that you don't park in the garage driveway or block access to this driveway. OTHER NOTES: We require a 3-night minimum stay and we list at a fair nightly rate. This way, our guests get all the enjoyment and relaxation out of their trip. Our general max stay is 10 days, but you are welcome to make a request for a longer stay if you see the availability in our calendar. The cabin has year-round accessibility and plowed roads/driveways in the Diamond Peaks community, but AWD or 4WD is recommended in Winter months. There is a small general store and a few restaurants within 1-5 miles, but larger grocery stores are 20-30 minutes away (Oakridge, La Pine, Klamath Falls), so make sure you bring what you need. Cell service can be spotty in this area, but we do have reliable and fast internet.
