About this property

Balsam Station - A Cozy 70s-era Mountain House in WNC

Balsam Station // perched at 3,387 ft. above sea level in the Balsam Mountains, this 2BR/1.5BA house offers comfy indoor & outdoor living, including an oversized deck to take in the year-round views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, along with every modern amenity you need for a relaxing retreat in the clouds.

You’ll be on one of the most scenic portions of the Blue Ridge Parkway within 5 minutes from the driveway, or take a hike from the house onto the Mountains-to-Sea trail right outside the neighborhood. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is also within 40 mins of our place.

The house feels secluded from everything but is a quick 10-15 minute drive to downtown Sylva, Dillsboro, and Waynesville for remarkable mountain dining, boutique shopping, coffee shops, and Carolina spring-water breweries. (Asheville is ~40 mins. away as well.)

While there are countless nearby hikes to mountain peaks and waterfalls, the house also backs up directly to thousands of acres of nature conservancy and US Forest land.

More details about the home:

- The driveway is steep but fully paved and accessible by all passenger vehicles (no all-wheel-drive needed). No RVs or trailers allowed on site.
- Two plush bedrooms each with comfy king beds
- One full bathroom w/ tub & shower + another half bath in bedroom
- Full kitchen with stainless steel appliances + filtered spring water from the tap, dining room, and living room, all with mountain views
- Outdoor includes full yard with firepit and picnic table + large deck with plenty of seating
- Covered carport for single vehicle or a few motorcycles, with additional parking for two vehicles in driveway
- Washer + Dryer
