“It’s hard to overstate how beautiful this property is. “ - Mike
Perched above the Russian River Valley, Hummingway Ranch invites you to slow down and settle into wine country living. Sip coffee by the koi pond at sunrise, spend lazy afternoons on sunlit decks, and watch the sky turn gold over the hills each evening. Surrounded by gardens and sweeping views, yet just minutes from renowned dining and wineries, it’s a peaceful hilltop escape that feels worlds away.
ABOUT THE SPACE:
There’s a certain calm that settles in as you arrive at Hummingway Ranch. The drive winds upward, the air feels lighter, and suddenly you’re greeted by sweeping views that stretch across the Russian River Valley. It’s quiet here in the best way — the kind of quiet that invites you to breathe deeper and stay a little longer.
Start your morning outside with coffee beside the koi pond as the sun rises over Fitch Mountain. If you’re lucky, you may spot hot air balloons lifting into the sky in the distance. The gardens slowly come to life in the early light, and it’s easy to lose track of time simply wandering through citrus trees, herbs, and blooming pathways.
Inside, the great room is filled with natural light from a full wall of windows framing vineyard and valley views. Mid-century touches and comfortable seating create a space that feels both elevated and relaxed — ideal for long conversations, quiet reading, or an evening glass of wine. A wet bar nearby makes it easy to shift from morning coffee to sunset cocktails without ever leaving the view.
The kitchen is designed for gathering. Fully equipped and overlooking the property’s open fields, it’s ideal for everything from simple breakfasts to shared dinners. The dining table comfortably seats up to eight, making it easy for everyone to plan and come together after a day of exploring, as meals linger into golden hour and the hills slowly shift color at sunset.
Outdoor living is at the heart of this home. Practice yoga on the deck as the valley wakes up, enjoy a long outdoor lunch surrounded by greenery, or settle in for an evening under the open sky. Every corner of the property offers a different perspective — from wide vineyard vistas to intimate garden moments — making it easy for everyone to find their favorite spot.
For those mixing work with time away, three thoughtfully placed desks offer inspiring views and abundant natural light, paired with reliable high-speed Wi-Fi for calls or creative focus. When it’s time to unplug, the game closet, ping pong table, and extensive shared library provide simple, screen-free ways to unwind.
“We had a wonderful six day stay in one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed in. There were two cooks with us who loved how the kitchen was outfitted. Great layout with master on one side and two other bedrooms on the other side of the great room. Beautiful views including a double rainbow the morning after we arrived. Very peaceful and close to many activities and the coast. “ - Karen

GETTING AROUND: Driving from the ranch is the most practical way to get to all the sights (river beaches, wineries, trailheads). Biking is practical for local destinations on low-traffic roads and the paved West County Regional Trail. Sonoma County transit buses run infrequently but connect the major towns — check Sonoma County Transit for current routes.
