Unfortunately, we were not able to actually stay here. There are a few important things to under about this listing. As stated, the cottage is at a hotel, the Historic Boone Tavern Hotel. This listing is not run by the hotel, it is through a 3rd party, RoomPicks. For some reason, we were able to book this cottage through VRBO/RoomPicks even though it was not actually available. So, we showed up and were told that it was booked/ already occupied. The hotel tried to accommodate us, but it would not really fit our group. Luckily, we were able to find somewhere else to go at 10 pm. What followed was a frustrating 12 days of trying to figure out any details about the refund we were owed. While the hotel told us there would be no problem getting a refund, RoomPicks gave me essentially no information over 12 days about what to expect. They told me repeatedly to "be patient," but would not give more details about what the next steps were. I eventually called VRBO customer service and then I got a response that day about the refund (I will admit this could be a coincidence, you never know). For what it's worth, the hotel staff that we encountered were all fantastic, and the hotel seems really nice. We were sad we could not stay. If you want to book this cottage, definitely call the hotel to confirm you are actually booked.
