This unit is Pet Free for people with pet allergies, NO dogs are allowed. However, they are very welcome in The Garden Suite, also listed on VRBO, in the same compound.
The Farmhouse is perfect for family gatherings/company retreats! With 2 other units in the same property ( The Garden Suite, and the Library Suite, also on VRBO) up to 17 people can stay together! Nestled up against a 110 acre city park, the Bluff House is just a short walk into the historic Victorian Village of Ferndale. Ferndale has great wonderful Victorian architecture. In fact, the whole town of Ferndale has been designated as a California landmark..
The Farm House has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths; sleeps 9, great for families.
When renting all 3 units in the property, you have access to our Rec Room with a ping pong table, foosball table, and fire pit for great fun is included. Rec Room not included when renting only the house. No RV's allowed in the property.

Ferndalle & Arcata

Really enjoyed 3 nights/4 days at this property. We were up for CalPoly graduation and managed to find time for the Arcata Marsh, Farmers Market, shopping at Holly Yashi jewelry, hiking the Ladybird Grove, touring the Cal Poly campus and an eco-cruise on the Madaket in Eureka. The house was very comfortable, easy to find, had everything we needed. Would definitely come back!

Wonderful stay at the Bluff House

We had an amazing stay in Ferndale with our family. We ate meals together at the large dining table and enjoyed the relaxing views and singing birds. The hosts were excellent and everyone in town recommends them. Thank you for helping us have an excellent stay.

This is my second stay at the house and I would live there forever if I could. I just love the house and everything in it is perfect- so warm and cozy- it is a real home and the hosts are absolutely wonderful. Always caring and considerate!

the place was very clean and accommodating as we were able to find whatever we needed. We enjoyed the great location on the country hill as we could easily walk to town and in the area. The views are nice and picturesque. It worked great for the family wedding we were in town for.

This spot is so pretty! The house is spacious and had everything we needed. More than enough space and we loved the fire pit in the back yard. Our hosts were responsive and lovely. We’re big fans of Ferndale :)

Beautiful property - perfect for large group

My extended family rented the main house and both suites for a large gathering. The property is lovely - we enjoyed watching the cows in the pastures around us - and the deer and wild turkeys roaming the area. The units are all nicely furnished and well stocked for getting everyone together for meals and visiting. Definitely recommend.

Fun family weekend

I was here with my husband, our kids (ages 5 and 7), and my mother-in-law. We all had a great time. The kids loved running around in the yard, my mother-in-law loves the trail into town, and we all loved the view out of the big windows. Ferndale is an awesome town and this house is the perfect home base.

We loved our home away from home!

My family stayed in the Ferndale Bluff House over the 4th of July weekend, and it was absolutely lovely. Clean, well-stocked, roomy, and comfortable with a great location and wonderful view. There were even toys! The kids loved Caesar the cat, playing in the house, and walking the "trail" to into town ... we will be coming back for another stay in the future. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing!!

If I can put more stars I would. Sylvia was an absolute amazing person to deal with regarding the property. She came to check on us to ensure we were good and had everything we needed. The house is absolutely amazing and perfect for 2 sets of families. If you like to walk in the morning the town is just like out of a set of Gilmore girls!! There are also 2 trails to walk!! Loved everything and cannot thank them enough.

Beautiful and peaceful!

This beautiful farmhouse has great views! From the enclosed sunroom we watched cows, and in the morning, deer. It’s a very short walk to the charming village of Ferndale, and you can drive about a half hour south or an hour north to visit the amazing redwoods. The ocean is about a five minute drive away. My family loved every minute! Plenty of space for everyone and toys for the kids.

The experience of my friendless: clean, tidy, spacious. It is probably time to change the mattresses and the kitchen cookware/ utensils could use an upgrade.

A fantasic home in an idyllic setting next to the walkable little town of Ferndale

This home exceeded our expectations in every way, from the unbelievably well-equipped large kitchen to the huge bank of windows that looks out on the small farm fields that surround the home and the other homes and barns nearby. We saw goats, a group of mature turkeys, lots of hawks and even the rare sight of a gray fox hopping across the field one afternoon. A very relaxing and roomy home that made a great centerpiece for our lasting family memories. Although the home is vintage, it was clean and very well maintained, and everything worked perfectly.

Perfect family reunion!

We could not have found a better house to hold all the visiting kids and grandchildren for our family reunion to celebrate our parents 60th anniversary! Super convenient location just a short walk to Main Street and an easy drive to Centerville Beach that allowed us to take morning beach walks and return for amazing sunsets! The house had everything we needed and more. With the living room, the sunroom/dining room and the kitchen all open to each other, we had plenty of space for the teens and younger kids to have their own space but still have everyone close. And the fire pit was a great gathering place at the end of the day. We only wish we had more time in Ferndale to enjoy this beautiful home!

We loved this place!

Wonderful. Would be perfect for 2 couples with young kids or parents/kids and grandparents, etc... Also would be great for a larger group because there are three separate places on this same property. Plenty of privacy even if they had been booked (which they weren’t.) So clean and the hospitality is top notch. Lots of good food in Ferndale. Unmarked hiking trail into verdant Russ Park is across the street. Great drive out to the coast/Petrolia if you don’t mind a tiny country road. Wild country. Pretty close to a Eureka and Fortuna for more supplies/restaurants. Just great, we’ll probably be back!

Such a Charmer!

Thank you, Sharon and Sylvia! We had a wonderful time at your property. My sister and her husband stayed in the Garden Suite below the Bluff House and were very comfy. We stayed in the Bluff House and enjoyed the close proximity to my niece's wedding at The Bluff- just a few miles down the road! And although we also rented the Library Suite, some family members weren't able to come so no one stayed there, but we enjoyed the attached gameroom and played some ping pong before the wedding! The entire property was beautiful- the photos don't capture all of its charm. We even enjoyed time with "Barnadette", the sweet kitty who roamed around outside. Thank you for making this property available and we look forward to coming back soon!

Family time

Great location for a family vacation. Plenty of space for gathering in the common areas. We spent a couple mornings walking the trails in the Avenue of the Giants and then playing in the Eel River during the afternoons. Another morning we hiked along the paths in the park across from the farmhouse and then the afternoon by the ocean. We also spent one day walking into town and visiting the shops and the museum. Our last day we visited the remote lost coast and basically had the shoreline to ourself to explore and eat a picnic lunch. There are two other rentals on the property so others may be visiting at the same time. Sylvia and Sharon were great in a quick response time to any questions or needs we had. Kitchen has everything you need in the way of cooking and dishes. Very relaxing place with many windows to let in the light and places to sit.
