The two comfortable, cosy, and well-equipped properties, “Sonne & Meer,” are located in the historic knight’s town of Esens in the North Sea spa town of Esens-Bensersiel. You’ll be staying in a prime location on the outskirts of Esens’ town centre. The property, which includes one holiday apartment and one holiday home, offers excellent transport connections by car or bicycle to the nearby North Sea spa town of Bensersiel and the close-by North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel.
For example, the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel and the beach are just four kilometres away and are located directly within the unique natural wonder known as the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site since 2009. Transport links to Neuharlingersiel are also excellent from our location and very easy to find, as Neuharlingersieler Straße is just a short distance away.
The “Sonne” holiday apartment and the “Meer” holiday home in Esens near Bensersiel are cosy, warmly decorated, and comfortably furnished. They are therefore ideal for a wonderful North Sea holiday for 2 to 4 people. With approximately 65 square metres in the “Sonne” holiday apartment and 75 square metres in the “Meer” holiday home, you’ll find everything you need for your holiday.
We’d be happy to tell you all about the attractions of our cosy and charming town of Esens—which is over 475 years old and features a historic town centre—and, of course, the “highlights” of the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel. For example, we also have plenty of events—both large and small—and museums. Or you can simply enjoy some true peace and quiet in your beautiful holiday apartment and on the lovely balcony.
For example, head north by bike through the idyllic East Frisian marshes and, if you like, along the “Benser Tief” to Bensersiel. This way, you’ll reach the beach at a leisurely pace and feeling refreshed.
Our location is ideal for long walks, bike tours, and explorations of East Frisia’s unique natural landscape. This way, you can enjoy an active yet relaxing holiday on the North Sea and make the most of the North Sea’s invigorating climate.

Soak up the sun or explore the beautiful surroundings of Esens-Bensersiel and the vast expanse of East Frisia by bike. In Bensersiel, visit the “Nordseetherme Bensersiel” water park, a modern, heated fun and leisure pool. Or head to the beach to check out the new beach complex featuring “Bennis Abenteuerland”—a covered beach area for children—as well as the maritime sports theme park and the seawater outdoor pool with a giant water slide. Take day trips to the East Frisian Islands and visit numerous old mills, museums, exhibitions, and other cultural highlights. Or take your children to Werdum to visit the petting zoo, which features many small animals from all corners of the world. Or head to Neuharlingersiel. In addition to other attractions in this North Sea spa town, you’ll find the historic fishing harbour with its active crab-fishing fleet and “Platschi,” the fantastic water play area right in the middle of the beach.
