At one point, we did get our gas and electric cut. Given the heat in Philly at the time, it was incredibly inconvenient.However, the host was quick to respond, and settled the issue promptly.Overall, it was a comfortable stay, despite these issues.

The inside of the property was ok. The furniture is stained but usable. The outside entrance was overgrown with uncut grass and shrubbery and didn't look like the exterior photos shown. Note: There is no central air conditioning, however, there are room cooling units.

My family and I were left stranded in the middle of the night because this host did not pay his electric bill! To be honest, the host was kind and initially responsive. The house was dated but clean enough though it was hard to tell being that there was no power. For the first hour or so that we were required to give the host time to rectify the situation, he was available and responsive. He apologized for the situation but that didn't help us find a place to stay in the middle of the night. The whole situation made worse by the fact that the host was made aware weeks in advance that this trip and stay was for my husband's surgery and we chose his home to recover. I believe he is just in over his head and should not be renting this home as a short term rental.

The location of this apartment is okay, and check-in was very smooth. The apartment is a bit worn in some places and could benefit from some maintenance, especially the windows, the blinds, and baseboard heaters are broken. The toilet was not cleaned and there was no toilet paper. I contacted the host and he did drop some off about 6 hours later. For the kitchen, the oven, underneath the sink, and the utensil drawer were not cleaned. A quick heads-up to future guests, bring your own linens. Overall, it’s a convenient base to explore the city, but it functions more like a no-frills stay.

Nice question neighborhood, friendly neighbors. Few things missing from kitchen that made cooking a challenge, such as coffee machine, paper towels, can opener, and dishes were greasy and dirty. Top bunk bed was dusty and had hair on sheet. Bunk bed was also very creaky and squeaky at the slightest movement. Too much overpowering perfume, incense, candles and room freshener. The sheets were bundles up, could not tell what was clean and what was used. If more attention paid to cleaning this place would be very nice. Bathroom was bright and clean, but no plug for bathtub.

While the place was clean, it lacked a few essentials; there's no coffee maker so forget your morning coffee, there is only one TV in a 2 bedroom apartment, no dinner spoons that I could find and host laundry was left in the drier. It's also slightly annoying that one needs a total of 4 different keys to get into the apartment. The host had to send pictures and instructions on what key to use on what lock.
