About the host
Hosted by Brian Thurston
My wife and I are local residents that have lived in Fort Scott most of our lives. We chose to put rentals in this town due to its charm. I have been in Law Enforcement with the local PD for 18 years, so safety is our number one priority. We own Grit & Grace Mercantile that is below your apartment. It is a clothing boutique, and guests receive a 10% discount from the store. My wife Julie manages the boutique.
Why they chose this property
This is a great area because you are walking distance from the downtown area. The Fort Scott Historic Site is in your back yard and a short walk to all the restaurants, stores and bars. The location is just off the highway, making it easy for commute.
What makes this property unique
It is a 1911 building that once housed the Bachman Candy Factory. It has been restored but still has that historical charm. We have two apartments and both have been updated but still have the historical feel. It is a safe location and has a private parking lot. This allows you to park and go on foot if desired. The private parking lot makes it easy to drive anywhere in town as well.
