Welcome to the semi-detached house—“Große Freiheit”—in our thatched-roof Kittler Captain’s House in Wiek on Rügen. It is located at the end of a very quiet residential area in the resort town of Wiek and is just a few minutes’ walk from the Wieker Bodden. From here, you’ll have the perfect starting point for all kinds of excursions! Go for a bike ride, hike on the beautiful Wittow Peninsula, or set out from the charming little harbour in Wiek for a trip to the island of Hiddensee—where you can enjoy a delicious fish sandwich or take in the stunning sunsets. The visitor’s tax for Wiek is also not included in the trip price and will be applied for by the property owner at the tourism office prior to your arrival. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us.<br><br>Information about the accommodation / property:<br><br>You enter the “Große Freiheit” semi-detached house (for up to 9 people) through the separate entrance on the ground floor. From there, you’ll find the kitchen, a guest bathroom, a staircase leading to the upper floor, and the particularly light-filled living/dining area, featuring a cosy couch (which can be quickly converted into a sleeping area in the evening), a chaise longue for relaxing, comfortable armchairs, and a dining area with a solid wood dining table. <br><br>From the dining area in the living room, you can also access the kitchen, which is equipped with a ceramic cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toaster, egg cooker, blender, etc. A washing machine is located in a separate storage room accessible from the kitchen. <br><br>The ground floor and upper floor are fully tiled, and the underfloor heating ensures a particularly cosy atmosphere even when temperatures drop. You can also spend pleasant and relaxing hours in front of the crackling fireplace in the living-dining area. <br><br>On the upper floor, there is a large bathroom with natural light and a dormer window. It is equipped with a bathtub, shower, double sink, LED mirror, and hair dryer. <br><br>There are two larger separate bedrooms, each furnished with a large double bed (1.80/2.00), nightstands, a spacious closet, and a mirror. Both bedrooms are large enough to accommodate a cot.<br><br>Additional sleeping space for one person is located in a small room; from there, a wooden staircase leads to the cosy attic, where you’ll find two more single beds and a pull-out bed for two people. <br><br>From the small room, as well as the adjacent bedroom, you can step out onto the southwest-facing balcony with a view of the surrounding meadows, where you can watch Galloway cattle, sheep, and horses grazing. Not far beyond lies the Wieker Bodden.<br><br>Through the large French doors in the living room, you can step out onto the south-facing terrace with a fenced-in garden area where dogs can run around to their heart’s content. Here you’ll find, among other things, a large table that seats up to 9 people, 2 sun loungers, a large umbrella, and a charcoal grill. The day can start perfectly with breakfast in the sun, or a cosy barbecue evening can round out the day. A small garden shed provides storage space for bicycles or similar items.<br><br>Location information:<br><br>In just a few minutes by car, you can reach the unique stone beach of Dranske, Nonnevitz, the car park for Kap Arkona / Vitt, or the fine-sand swimming beach of the Baltic Sea resort Juliusruh on the Schaabe.<br>Right in town, you’ll find a small Edeka supermarket, a Sparkasse bank, a pizzeria, restaurants, a kitesurfing camp, a fishing shop, and a place to rent bicycles. A bakery provides your breakfast rolls or a slice of cake to go with your coffee. Netto, Norma, and Getränkeland are just a few minutes’ drive away.<br><br>We wish you an unforgettable holiday!
