The friendliest place we've been to in years. The cottage was wonderful, clean, cute and the bed...I would have taken it home, if it would have fit in my car. We will definitely be back, its the only place we'd stay!

We enjoyed our stay! My kids favorite part of course was the pool and park lol My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub very much. The cottage was the cutest and super cozy! Mary was such a sweetheart the entire time from start of checkout even after checkout. I left behind my sentimental AirPods. They belonged to my brother, who passed away in November. When I realized I had left them behind a day later I was so heartbroken and reached out immediately. Mary responded within minutes and informed me that she will have the cottage checked and let me know if they are found. She replied within an hour and said they were in fact left inside the cottage. I was beyond relieved and so thankful that she was willing to ship them at no charge!! I asked her if she could hold onto them because I’d rather make another drive to pick them up so they aren’t lost in transit since they have such sentimental value to me and she kept them safe for 5 days! Shark Reef Resort has definitely earned our trust and we will definitely be back again when we visit Port A

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at this VRBO. While Mary was kind and responsive, the cleanliness of the property was unacceptable.As soon as we walked in, there was a strong foul odor that seemed to be coming from the sink drain. The AC unit was also dripping water down the wall during our stay. The floors were extremely dirty — within minutes of walking around barefoot, our feet were black.The biggest issue, however, was the amount of dust throughout the home. Dust was visible on light fixtures, table tops, walls, above door frames, and especially on the ceiling fans. The bedroom ceiling fan was completely caked with dust. My wife has asthma, and the poor air quality made her very uncomfortable and caused her to cough constantly.Because of this, we had to check out early from our stay. Unfortunately, no accountability or refund was offered despite the condition of the property.Again, Mary herself was pleasant, but the home is simply not being maintained or cleaned to an acceptable standard.

We love this part of Port Aransas because it still feels like the Port Aransas so many families remember. You're close to the beach, fishing, restaurants, and local shops, but far enough from the busiest areas to enjoy a quieter, more relaxing stay. With Charlie's Pasture Nature Preserve just behind the property, it's common to spot birds and other local wildlife while enjoying your morning coffee or evening walk.

We're one of the last remaining locally owned and family-operated properties in Port Aransas, and we've proudly welcomed guests since 2005. We live on-site, take care of the property ourselves, and genuinely enjoy getting to know our guests. Our goal is simple: provide a clean, comfortable place where families can relax and make memories they'll want to come back for.

One of the things that makes Shark Reef Resort special is our courtyard. It's where kids make new friends, parents relax in the hammocks, families gather after a day at the beach, and everyone enjoys the pool, hot tub, playground, and picnic areas together. We love seeing guests create memories here, and it's one of the reasons so many families return to Shark Reef year after year.
