About this property

Vintage Ski Condo Close to Slopes with WiFi, Shared Pools & Hot Tub, & Tennis

Summary:

Silver Strike at Northstar

The Space:

You'll be less than half a mile from Northstar California Resort when you stay at this three-bedroom vacation rental! In addition to the deluxe community amenities like a shared (seasonal) pool, hot tub, and sauna, you'll have three levels of comfortable living space, including a top level with a spacious primary bedroom retreat, complete with a full bathroom.

This convenient Truckee location at the Aspen Grove complex offers you an easy stroll or brief shuttle ride to the base of Northstar Ski Area. In addition, Truckee's charming downtown area is only about seven miles north, with shops and restaurants, as well as the Coyote Moon Golf Course.

This interior features tasteful mountain furnishings, decor, and art throughout. The bright and open living and dining areas are reminiscent of a traditional Lake Tahoe lodge, with a comfortable place to relax after a day of skiing. There's a distinctive corner wood-burning fireplace, a sectional sofa bed, and tall ceilings that rise to the loft. Right off the living room is a covered deck for taking it easy in the cool summer breeze. Entertainment amenities include a TV with premium cable channels and WiFi. You can set the dining room table for up to six but you'll also have a few spots at the breakfast bar, which opens to the dining/living area, allowing the chefs to stay connected with everyone while they work their culinary magic. In the full, galley-style kitchen you'll have all major appliances, including a dishwasher, as well as smaller appliances, like a microwave and coffee maker - everything you need for meals in. Of course, when you do want to go out, there are restaurant options close by, just a half mile walk (or shuttle ride) away in the Village at Northstar.

Bedrooms are separated by the main living area, with two bedrooms downstairs and one up a flight. One lower level bedroom has a twin and full bed, while the other room has a four poster queen bed, and access to a lower level deck. There is also a recently remodeled full bathroom down here and a laundry room. And upstairs on the top floor, the primary suite has a king bed, TV, and a en suite bathroom with a bonus counter sink.

You'll love being steps away from fantastic skiing/riding opportunities. The resort also offers a free shuttle from the Aspen Grove complex to the base village in the wintertime. After a long day of snowy fun, simply coast back to your front door without any hassle. Summertime transforms Northstar into a haven for hiking and biking trails, and The Course at Northstar will satisfy all your golfing needs. Enjoy great dining and shopping year-round and a movie theater for the latest flicks. Beautiful Lake Tahoe beaches, galleries, and restaurants in bustling, lake-front Kings Beach are just a short drive away, with all of North Tahoe's casinos just across the Nevada state-line a few miles east.

Enjoy access to the Northstar recreation center amenities, which include tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness center, a sauna, a hot tub, a seasonal lap pool, and an open grill area next to a beautiful creek surrounded by pine, fir, and aspen trees. (Site rentals include the use of three picnic tables and up to two gas BBQ grills with grilling utensils.) There is a $10 daily fee per person for use of the facilities.

Great ski location, we’ll stocked

Great for adults and kids given the bunk beds. Nice main floor with stocked kitchen. Bathrooms outdated. Can’t beat location for skiing as it’s on the shuttle ride.

Northstar Condo

Great location. Pretty setting. Comfortable Condo. Unfortunately major landscaping project going on with heavy equipment, tractors, Jack hammer and chain saws disturbed our vacation.

New Year's Holiday

The property was perfect for my family of 6. We liked the room arrangement. The kitchen was well stocked. If I had to complain, the kitchen could have had a kettle for tea. Everything was in good working order. Although we did not ski at Northstar, the location was good for going to the lake, sledding and cross country skiing.

Family friendly condo at Northstar

Great condo for a family or group, especially with the bunk + trundle. Comfortable place to stay with games, kitchen supplies and access to NPOA for hot tub and pool ($10/person with pass). The shuttle was really easy from the condo. The layout was nice having kids downstairs and the master bedroom up above the family room and kitchen. There were two sets of stairs though, so be ready! Also the foyer area is small if you have a lot of gear. We enjoyed cooking and had plenty of pots, pans, and gear. We used the fireplace which was so cozy! Lighting was lacking, especially in the bedrooms (and outdoor light was out), and one flickered. All minor stuff. Overall really enjoyed our stay!!

Such a great place to stay on our snowy getaway!

This condo is very warm, comfortable, well-stocked, and well-located. We had such a great weekend! The shuttle stop is right there, too, but the massive snow fall had turned the short walk to Northstar Village into a winter wonderland, so we walked instead. And the listing doesn't mention it, but there's a plastic sled under the stairs. So fun! One important tip for out-of-towners flying in during the winter - don't miss your condo reservation and Northstar fun due to road closures! We highly recommend going to the Northstar website and using one of the "local transportation" options under "Getting here." The I-80 was closed because of the snow, but they were letting local drivers through. So all the cars around us were being forced to pull over or turn around, but we were let through. We felt much safer than we would have driving ourselves, and we made it to the condo!
