Pura Vida at Villa Mirador! 🇨🇷🌴

Villa Mirador was the perfect home base for our week in Costa Rica! We traveled with two other couples, and the house offered the perfect combination of luxurious shared spaces and private retreats. Each bedroom had its own en suite bathroom, giving everyone room to spread out, while the incredible outdoor living area quickly became our favorite gathering spot. And can we talk about that pool?! The infinity pool, complete with built-in bar stools, spectacular views, and an enormous fire pit, made it hard to justify leaving the property! The indoor living spaces were equally beautiful and comfortable, especially when we wanted a break from the heat. One feature that really sets Villa Mirador apart is the glass-enclosed elevator. I specifically chose this home because we were traveling with someone who has mobility considerations and it was such a wonderful amenity. But we all appreciated it when hauling groceries, luggage, and shopping bags! As someone who's a bit claustrophobic, I also loved being able to enjoy the gorgeous scenery during the ride. Given the hilly terrain around Playas del Coco, this is a feature you shouldn't underestimate! The location was another huge plus. Villa Mirador sits high enough to offer breathtaking views but is still conveniently close to town without some of the intimidatingly steep driveways we saw elsewhere. We absolutely loved using the golf cart to explore Playas del Coco. There's something about cruising around in the open air that makes you feel like you're really on vacation! One of my favorite things about Costa Rica was the people. Everyone we encountered was welcoming, helpful, and seemed to embrace a wonderfully relaxed approach to life. We quickly adopted that pura vida attitude ourselves. We swam when we were hot, ate when we were hungry, slept when we were tired, and simply followed the flow of each day. It was exactly the reset we needed. We did venture out for some unforgettable experiences! We loved our cultural coffee and guaro experience, along with the waterfalls and mineral hot springs near Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park. And the cherry on top? A sunset catamaran cruise complete with snorkeling, dinner on board, BABY DOLPHINS leaping from the ocean, and a double rainbow welcoming us back to shore. You really can't make this stuff up! We visited during the so-called rainy season and had rain for only one afternoon the entire week. So don't automatically rule out visiting during the off-season. We enjoyed beautiful weather and plenty of sunshine! Villa Mirador was such a special place to gather, unwind, and experience the beauty of Costa Rica. Our group of six had plenty of space, and I'm already dreaming about returning with even more friends next time.
