Most popular activities:

• 🚤 Boating – Bring your own boat or rent a pontoon, ski boat, fishing boat, or houseboat. The lake has over 50 public boat ramps and several full-service marinas.

• 🛥️ Houseboating – Lake Cumberland is often called the “Houseboat Capital of the World,” with many visitors spending several days living on the water.

• 🎣 Fishing – Excellent for striped bass, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, and bluegill. A Kentucky fishing license is required.

• 🏄 Water skiing and wakeboarding – Wide open sections of the lake make it a favorite for tow sports.

• 🌊 Tubing – One of the most popular family activities behind pontoons and ski boats.

• 🚤 Jet skiing (PWC) – Personal watercraft are permitted throughout most of the lake.

• 🛶 Kayaking and canoeing – Quiet coves are ideal for paddling and wildlife viewing.

• 🏄‍♀️ Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) – Calm mornings are especially good for paddleboarding.

• 🏊 Swimming – There are designated swimming beaches as well as many secluded coves. Swim only in safe areas, as many locations do not have lifeguards.

• 🏕️ Shoreline camping – Certain shoreline areas managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers allow primitive camping, making boat-in camping a unique experience.

• 🥾 Hiking – Trails around the lake offer scenic overlooks, forests, and wildlife.

• 🦅 Wildlife watching and photography – Bald eagles, deer, wild turkeys, and many water birds can often be seen around the lake.

• 🌅 Sunset cruising – A favorite way to enjoy the lake without participating in watersports.

Visit Pulaski County Park, which has a family-friendly swimming area, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and hiking trails.

Then take a short drive to Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, known as the “Niagara of the South.” You can:

• Hike to scenic overlooks

• Watch the waterfall

• Go rafting or kayaking on the river (seasonally)

• Look for the rare moonbow if you’re visiting around a full moon.

Try an early morning fishing trip for striped bass or smallmouth bass.

Later, visit one of the marinas for lunch and enjoy the waterfront atmosphere:

• Lee’s Ford Resort Marina

• Wolf Creek Marina

• Safe Harbor Burnside

These marinas offer restaurants, fuel, rentals, and beautiful views of the lake.

Don’t miss

• Hidden coves only accessible by boat

We booked a stay here at the last minute and absolutely loved it. 10/10! A few things that are important to me when we travel are cleanliness of the space but also the cooking utensils, pots/ pans, etc. I’ve started traveling with my own to VRBOs because not everyone takes care of those items but all of the cooking items, plates, utensils, etc, were in excellent shape! I was so impressed. There was a small coffee maker and a toaster there as well. Also a grill on the deck of the house, too! The bedding was clean, the pillows were very comfortable and the whole place was well taken care of. The shower had surprisingly good water pressure and got hot. The fact we could bring our dogs made the trip a million times better! If you have a boat, you can literally dock it right outside of your float house for such an easy access point! Check in process was so very smooth. The parking lot is a little bit of a walk from the houses but if you load everything up on your boat, you can take it right up to the porch on the house. Or take a mini wagon. We will absolutely stay here again! The host was also very responsive to any questions we had as well. Such a cute concept!I forgot to mention the golf cart shuttle service. They were running constantly if anyone ever needed it! It was so helpful. The WiFi service was strong so we were able to work and watch TV. I have Verizon & I was able to have cell service too. (So many little details but things that are all important to me when booking)

This property truly is amazing. It has the perfect location, amazing staff, and truly breath taking scenery. The pictures of this property were slightly deceiving. The 2nd bedroom in the pictures appears to be a regular bedroom with 3 beds. It is not. It is a very short loft. My kids loved it and it did not affect our stay. If fact, we are already planning next year!!!
