About this property

Private Hot Tub + Deck + Fire Pit + Mountain Views | Mins to Downtown

Welcome to Sónyah's Cabin by AvantStay, tucked into the wooded hillsides of Townsend — the quiet side of the Smokies — where this two-bedroom retreat trades the crowds of Gatlinburg for something slower, greener, and a whole lot more peaceful. Warm wood interiors wrap around an open-concept main level where a stone fireplace anchors the living room and a dining table for six sets the stage for long, unhurried meals. Extensive windows pull the mountains inside, and when the sun starts to dip, the covered deck becomes the best seat in the house. The heart of Townsend is 7 minutes away, with two Great Smoky Mountains National Park entrances just 9 minutes from your door.

That deck is where the cabin really earns its keep. Rocking chairs line up along the railing for morning coffee with a valley view, and the hot tub sits just off to the side — perfect for soaking under a sky full of stars once the evening rolls in. It's the kind of setup that makes you cancel your dinner reservation and order pizza instead.

Inside, two queen bedrooms (each with its own ensuite bath) sit on separate levels for added privacy, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room means you can comfortably host up to six. A full kitchen, washer/dryer, and all the everyday essentials make longer stays feel effortless.

AvantStay provides a personalized hospitality experience to elevate your stay. With our Concierge Service, guests have access to our tech-enabled services like fridge stocking, private chefs, massages, transportation, special occasion celebrations, baby gear rentals, ski gear, beach gear, and more.

Townsend, Tennessee — known as "The Peaceful Side of the Smokies" — is a quieter, nature-forward alternative to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. With its laid-back pace and sweeping mountain views, Townsend appeals to families, couples, and outdoor enthusiasts year-round — peaking in summer and fall foliage season.

You can’t beat the location or the view. It’s absolutely gorgeous! The beds could use an upgrade. It feels like a typical cheaply run Vrbo. The beds, pillow and bedding were very subpar. The allotment of toiletries etc was also terrible. We were rationing toilet paper by the end and we were gone almost every day alllll day and nobody had diarrhea .

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We're so glad to hear the location and views lived up to expectations — they truly are something special. We sincerely appreciate you flagging the concerns around the bedding and supply levels, and we'll be sure to pass this along to the right teams so we can improve the experience for future guests. We'd love the opportunity to host you again and show you a stay that feels just as wonderful as the view.
