Villa Paradiso is located in the heart of the natural oasis of Giannutri Island.
It's the ideal place to relax and enjoy the sea as it disappears into the horizon. The villa has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds.
The villa has two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen.
The highlight of Villa paradiso is its panoramic terrace, perfect for a sunset aperitif.
Giannutri is a fascinating and special island. It is part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, just 500 metres wide and 5 kilometres long. In winter, it is inhabited by about 20 people, including Franco, the owner of Villa Paradiso, who enjoy the solitary life on this small hamlet of the island of Giglio, which is an island unto itself.
There are no cars or paved roads, you only move around on foot, arriving by a one-hour ferry from Argentario.
In Giannutri, the fascination of nature takes over: the beauty of its seabed rich in biodiversity and the crystal-clear sea make it a paradise for diving and snorkelling enthusiasts. Trekking enthusiasts, on the other hand, will be able to walk on trails that pass through expanses of dense Mediterranean scrub, Roman ruins and enchanting natural scenery until they reach Monte Mario and Poggio di Capel Rosso, the latter being the highest point on the island (88 metres above sea level) from which one can enjoy an amazing panorama.
The island is also perfect for families with children, who will find themselves completely free to move around the island without incurring any danger - the absence of cars and means of transport makes it perfect even for children.
The coast is rocky with steep cliffs, sea caves and two small pebble beaches: Cala Maestra and Cala Spalmatoio, which are also the only two landing places. There are no sandy beaches, so sea shoes are recommended for those who are unfamiliar. There are no bathing establishments, here nature takes over.
The main attraction of the island, apart from nature, are the remains of a sumptuous Roman villa built between the 1st and 2nd century AD by the Domizi Enobarbi family to which Emperor Nero belonged. Guided tours are organised by the Park Guides every day from Cala Spalmatoio, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Ferries to Giannutri (there are no ferries on Tuesdays) are taken at Porto Santo Stefano, where you can also leave your car in a secure car park. The ferry lands at 11am and departs at 4pm, which is why Franco's Villa Paradiso is often already available on arrival and can be kept until departure.
There is a galley on the island where all the basic necessities can be found, but it is always advisable to bring the main groceries from Porto Santo Stefano.
