Riverwalk Cottage - A Charming Newly Renovated Stone Cottage

Whisk yourself away to Riverwalk Cottage, a charming stone cottage in the beautiful village of Warkworth, Northumberland.

Tucked away down a quiet lane that leads to the grassy banks of the River Coquet, Riverwalk Cottage offers a perfect blend of timeless character and quiet luxury.

Less than a minute’s stroll from the village centre and the quiet banks of the River Coquet. Beautifully renovated and dog-friendly!

Set in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Warkworth, Riverwalk Cottage places you just moments from everything that makes this village so special. Inviting cafés, independent boutiques, excellent restaurants, three welcoming pubs and the iconic medieval Warkworth castle are all within easy walking distance, yet the cottage itself is tucked away down a small lane, offering peace, privacy and a true sense of escape.

Recently renovated throughout, Riverwalk Cottage blends timeless character with fresh, contemporary comfort. Step outside and you can wander along scenic riverside paths or stroll all the way to the sweeping golden sands of Warkworth Beach, just a gentle 10-15 minute walk from your door. Whether you’re here for long coastal walks, lazy pub lunches or simply slowing the pace, this is a place that invites you to truly unwind.

On the ground floor:

Climb the two stone steps and enter through the front door into a welcoming boot room where rustic character meets thoughtful comfort. It’s a space designed for arrivals, somewhere to kick off muddy boots, hang up coats, and settle in after a day outdoors.

With bench seating, coat hooks and room for dog beds, it offers a warm welcome to both humans and muddy paws alike.

From here, step into the lounge, a beautifully cosy room where comfort and character sit side by side. Whitewashed floors, exposed stone walls and traditional wooden beams are complemented by soft lighting and a sandstone inglenook fireplace with a glowing log-burning stove, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere in every season. Settle into the comfortable sofa seating for four, let daylight drift in through the two windows, or curl up in the evening with the 40-inch Smart TV, a good book or one of the classic board games provided. It’s a space made for slow evenings and quiet moments.

To the rear of the cottage is the spacious bright kitchen that is a joy to spend time in, fitted with elegant white worktops, integrated appliances including a fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and wine fridge. Freestanding appliances such as a 'Ninja' Airfryer, toaster, microwave, kettle and 'Tassimo' coffee machine make the cottage fully equipped with everything you could need for your stay. It flows seamlessly into the dining room, making it perfect for relaxed breakfasts, leisurely lunches, or lingering over dinner with a bottle of wine after a day by the sea.

From the kitchen, a charming stable door opens out into the small private walled garden, a true sun trap where tails can wag freely as you sip wine under the stars or fire up the BBQ on a warm summer evening. At its heart, a charming pergola with a waterproof canopy shelters comfy outdoor sofa seating and a glowing outdoor fireplace, making it the ideal spot to relax come rain or shine. The garden features a grassy lawn, evergreen trees, vibrant flowers in raised beds, and a soothing water feature that adds a gentle soundtrack to your outdoor moments. It’s a space designed for slow mornings, long afternoons, and unforgettable evenings shared with the ones you love most.

Upstairs the cottage has two generous ensuite bedrooms, like the rest of the cottage these too are beautifully designed, recently refurbished and finished to a very high standard, offering plenty of space and privacy.

One bedroom features a luxurious king-size bed and a stunning ensuite with a large walk-in shower complete with built-in seating, an oversized drench rainfall shower head, WC and vanity. It’s a space designed for long, indulgent showers and relaxed, unhurried mornings.

The second bedroom offers a versatile super-king bed that can be arranged as twin singles, making it ideal for couples, friends or families travelling together. Its generous ensuite is a real showstopper, featuring a large walk-in shower, WC and vanity, alongside a beautiful oval freestanding bathtub, perfect for long soaks after a day exploring the coast.

Beyond Riverwalk Cottage, the historic village of Warkworth awaits with its majestic medieval castle, welcoming pubs, and spectacular walking trails right from your doorstep. A leisurely 10-15 minute stroll brings you to miles of golden sandy beach, where the sea stretches endlessly and dogs can roam free.

PARKING:

Conveniently, you can pull up outside the cottage to unload with ease, then park, for free, either in the village market place, in the bays at the bottom of the lane or in the numerous free bays along the scenic riverbank, all are less than 1 minute walk away from the cottage, allowing easy access to the cottage and for you to leave the car behind and fully embrace village life.

Riverwalk Cottage blends the charm of a traditional village cottage with the comfort and luxury of a modern renovation, creating a warm and welcoming sanctuary we hope you’ll be glad to return to each day and reluctant to leave when your stay comes to an end.
