It is a genuine Canarian seaside resort nestled on the south coast of Tenerife. A lovely long stretch of golden sand and awesome waves are really what this place is all about. If you love water sports, this is the place for you.

Surfers use one end of the beach while most of the swimming and sunbathing goes on at the far side, away from the thrill seekers, where children can play safely while adults relax in the sun. The World Kite Surfing Championship competition takes place here every year where hundreds of adrenalin-fuelled sportsmen and women take to the sea to perform tricks on surfboards attached to large kites.

A promenade runs parallel with the beach and is lined with shops, restaurants, bars and cafés. There are also several places to hire water sport equipment and wetsuits. Plenty of parking is also nearby as are several taxi ranks. Medano makes for a great day out; perfect to enjoy a traditional Canarian coastal town with a Bohemian twist. Local buses run from this resort to all the major places on the island so it’s easy to sample the delights before retreating back to the peace and quiet of your apartment.
