I booked this home for my husband and his buddies for a weekend fishing trip. The host responded to every message and was beyond kind. When my husband got home, he could not stop talking about his incredible experience was. The hosts were there to greet him and his buddies when the arrived after a long day of fishing. The hosts then provided a tour of the home & shared the history of the home that was built during the civil war. This was by far the best experience we’ve had with VRBO. He can’t wait to visit for another fishing adventure & a weekend get away for us. Thank you to the hosts for being so responsive & accepting. 10/10 stay, book this beautiful home, you will not regret it.Thank you again!

the host doesn't provide a key to the property because "they just leave the doors unlocked", which was quite unsettling for 2 females staying alone in a 2 story house. Also one of the doors we did lock when we left for the day was unlocked when we returned and lights i left in were off. the property is also not private there are private residences around and they were coming and going and had visitors coming and going. even though we booked the house the host only prepared 2 beds for us. one each. and one of the beds was in a room with another bed. what if one of us had a preference for which side of the room we wanted to sleep? the night time was quite creepy as it felt like some one or something was in the house with us...maybe because we knew we couldn't lock all the doors when we left for the day and we never went back upstairs after initially touring the house.

After providing Sheila with detailed directions to the property, I greeted her with surprise as she had driven to the backside of the house by proceeding off the gravel driveway, onto a walking path, downhill across a creek, and up a steep hill through a field. Keys to the home are available upon request, however we were amiss as to not providing them and their location within the house upon check-in. The house is located along a driveway shared by other family members whom are respectful and aware that the house is a rental property. At no time during Sheila’s stay was the house entered by anyone other than Sheila and/or her guest. This was an unexpected review as Sheila was told at check-in that we were available at any time if questions or concerns arose as we were readily available onsite to respond.
