About this property

Mountain cabin on a creek and farm, 7 miles from Smoky Mountains National Park

Come create lasting memories with your loved ones in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and on Lone Star North Farm. Our all-wood cabin is just 12 minutes (not 50 min.) from the entrance of the park. The cabin is positioned next to Carrs Creek and is secluded with no other residences in sight. You can sit back and relax at the cabin, enjoy visiting farm animals, or venture out into town or the park. Either way, the Turkey Cabin is a great place for making memories.

The cabin features a cast-iron wood-burning stove set upon antique bricks collected from family homesteads. For your comfort, there is also heating and air conditioning. All beds are iron with a primary sleeping area on the first level and a 12 ft. x 12 ft. loft for the secondary sleeping area. The primary sleeping area includes a queen-sized bed and an antique dresser with a mirror. The secondary sleeping area, in the loft, includes an antique full-size bed, two twin beds, small dressers, a mirror, and two dedicated workspaces.

The open floor plan of the cabin, except for the bathroom walls, allows families to spend time together making memories and provides a spacious yet cozy environment.

The kitchen features an antique cast-iron sink with a built-in drainboard, a dishwasher, a microwave, a coffee pot, a stove with an oven, and a refrigerator.

Other features include cathedral ceilings inside and outside on the porch and hardwood floors throughout. All interior walls and ceilings are tongue and groove boards with the bathroom walls constructed of antique pecky cypress. The shower features rusty tin walls for a rustic appeal that matches the galvanized vanity sink.

Cabin décor includes wall mounts in the living area and family heirloom quilts.

Hang out by the firepit and immerse yourself in nature's sights, sounds, and smells. One never knows what one might see, hear, or smell—a bear, a bobcat, a turkey, a groundhog, a woodpecker, rabbits, bats, deer, or wildflowers.

If that is not enough and you want to experience a working farm, join us for chores at the barn or garden, watch our farrier shoe the horses, meet the FAMOUS Dewey the Donkey, or do nothing at all—just wind down and breathe in the mountain air.

We live on the property in The Farm House, just around the mountain. We are available if needed.

Depending on the season, you can sign up for a cooking, baking, or canning class, where we demonstrate the uses of garden produce from the farm’s own garden.

Want MORE! Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are just minutes away.
