We arrived and this house and property was more than we ever thought to expect. They property the layout the entire vibe was out of this world. The decor, the absolute great taste in furniture, flooring, bathroom tiles and decor. The lighting and Let me tell the comfort of the King size bed was wonderful. The Hot Tub was a must do. Fire pit a plus! My wife spent her 50th bitrhday in a house we want to buy! Lol (no really we do) 6 star rating if we could. We will be booking multiples there this year.Thank You for a wonderful time in Sylva!!!

The property is in an excellent location, just 10 minutes drive from downtown Highlands. The property was quiet, spacious, nicely decorated, had a wonderful gas fireplace and a large screen TV. We did have an issue with the door keypad and a few cleaning issues which we addressed with the rental agency vacasa.

The furnishings were of good quality, and this could be a nice accommodation. However, the pictures did not fully represent the unit. The unit requires significant upkeep and a deep cleaning. Upon arrival at 6 PM, after a six-hour drive, we had to unload in 30-degree weather—only to find that I had to scrub the bathrooms before we could use them. The tub and floors were filthy. As both of us are disabled, this was an especially distressing experience. The bathroom towels were so thin they were nearly transparent, and the bedding was worn out with noticeable pilling. It’s clear that this unit is merely a money-making flip rather than a home cared for by an owner invested in the community.

When we first got here, it took a bit to figure out the 14 digit numeric code for the front door they sent me only needed 10 digits not all 14. I’m not sure what the point of sending us 14 digits was.Once we were able to enter the property, the AC was not on, and it was extremely hot inside. We could not get the mini splits to turn on in any of the rooms, even though we had googled and double checked that we were doing at the correct way. I tried to call the host company about the AC and was on hold for over 10 minutes. Then the call just disconnected. At 4:31 pm, the AC units miraculously turned on in all of the rooms.Overall, the listing was as stated and, on the surface, appeared to be clean. Unfortunately, there was other people‘s hair on the floor, and when I went to get the vacuum to clean it up, it was packed with dust and hair from a previous guest. I had to clean out the vacuum so that I could use it. It was disgusting. We went on a hike with our dogs and when we returned, we were very sweaty. I wanted to clean our clothes in the washer. When I open the door, an awful smell came out, and I noticed that they hadn’t cleaned the rubber portion in the front loading washer. I would rather take home a pile of sweaty clothes to clean at home than use that disgusting smelling washer. It was our 15th wedding anniversary, if you can get past the dirt, hair, moldy smell from the washer, it was a decent trip. They definitely need a new set of Cleaners. Pretty easy fix.
