Why families love our cabin: This isn't a standard cabin rental. The Lanternwood is a fully designed, amenity-loaded retreat in the heart of Hochatown — where kids have their own space to run wild and parents actually get to relax. Designer Scandi-Boho interiors, a seasonally heated pool, year-round hot tub, outdoor movie theater, and enough games to fill a rainy week — all on a private, forested lot surrounded by Oklahoma pines.
THE PROPERTY Step inside and you'll immediately notice this cabin is different. The open living area centers around a gas fireplace and plush sofa — designed for slow mornings and cozy evenings in. The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking: quality cookware, wine glasses, a full appliance suite, and a large dining table that fits the whole group. Nobody has to eat in shifts. The Scandi-Boho design runs throughout — warm wood tones, curated furnishings, soft lighting. It photographs beautifully, but it's designed to be lived in.
BEDROOMS Primary Suite (Ground Floor) King bed with premium mattress and linens. 50" Roku TV. Dedicated desk and work area — ideal for remote workers extending the trip. The adult retreat.
Loft Bedroom (Second Floor) Two full built-in beds with a privacy door and Roku TV. Positioned next to the kids' play area — great for older kids or a second couple wanting their own space.
Bunk Room (Second Floor) Twin-over-full bunk bed, play tent, and curated toys (Lincoln Logs, UNO, Sasquatch). Roku TV. Opens to the staircase for easy supervision. The kids claim this room immediately.
Additional sleeping: Queen sleeper sofa in the living room sleeps 2 additional guests.
Sleeping capacity note: The property comfortably sleeps 7 adults (king + 2 doubles + full bottom bunk + sleeper sofa). The twin top bunk is best suited for children or teenagers. With a mix of adults and kids, the full 11-guest capacity works well — the bunk room and loft are designed for younger guests.
OUTDOOR SPACES The outdoor areas are where The Lanternwood earns its reputation. 20' Heated Pool — Seasonal (April–October), maintained at a refreshing swim temperature. Loungers and pool towels included. Hot Tub — Available year-round. Fully heated, genuine spa warmth. The spot parents migrate to after the kids are in bed. Outdoor Movie Theater — Projector, outdoor seating, and a popcorn machine stocked with complimentary popcorn. Bring a laptop and HDMI cable for the most reliable streaming experience (some apps block screen mirroring). Fire Pit — Wood-burning round fire pit near the hot tub/silo for s'mores and campfire evenings. Bring your own firewood, starters, and matches. The deck fire table is propane-powered (main gas line) — no setup needed. BBQ Grill — Gas-powered. Ready for group cookouts.
GAMES & ENTERTAINMENT Putt-putt · Ping pong · Foosball · Cornhole · Ladder toss · Jenga · Kids' toys and games You won't need to plan activities. The property provides them.

We had an AWESOME time! House and property was very clean. The activities kept the littlest very occupied which was AWESOME!!! Our very first evening the water went off and came back on sometime when we were all asleep. Our host when notified was VERY RESPONSIVE and offered SEVERAL amenities including a hotel room on them!! The care made us forget about the water even being off.WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!

Thank you so much! It was awesome to host you and your family – we're so glad it was an enjoyable space for your little one. You're welcome back any time.
We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin! From the moment we arrived, it was obvious how much care and thought the owners have put into making it a special place. The cabin was spotless, and everything smelled incredibly fresh and clean—including the linens, which is always something I notice. There were so many thoughtful touches throughout the home, and it was stocked with an amazing selection of games that kept my 16-year-old daughter, her friend, and me entertained during our downtime. The cabin was comfortable, welcoming, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We truly felt at home and appreciated all the little details that made our stay extra special. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, cozy, and well-appointed cabin. Thank you for helping make our trip so memorable!
We booked a last minute trip. The owner was very quick to respond and answered all of the questions effectively. We had a very easy time accessing the property and the layout and amenities were just as described. Our kids spent so much time going from the pool to the hot tub and we could not have had a better trip. 10/10 for quality and the house is so well decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and there is plenty of things to do for kids of all ages. We will definitely be going back!

About the host
Hosted by Mandeep Singh
I'm Mandeep, and I created The Lanternwood because I wanted a place where families could truly disconnect and be together — not just sleep somewhere between activities.
I put a lot of thought into every detail, from the kids' bunk room and play area to the outdoor movie theater and hot tub, because I believe the best vacations happen when everyone in the group is happy.
I'm a responsive, hands-on host and genuinely care about every guest's experience.
Whether it's your first time in Broken Bow or you're a regular, I want The Lanternwood to feel like your favorite place to come back to.
Why they chose this property
Broken Bow and Hochatown are Oklahoma's best-kept secret — a pristine pine forest with world-class outdoor recreation, great food and nightlife, and enough family activities to fill a week.
What I love most is the contrast: you're completely surrounded by nature and trees, yet Beavers Bend State Park, Broken Bow Lake, great restaurants, and local attractions are all just minutes away. It feels remote without being inconvenient.
Once guests experience it, they almost always want to come back.
What makes this property unique
Most cabins in Broken Bow give you the outdoors. The Lanternwood gives you that plus a private resort experience.
The combination of a seasonally heated pool, year-round hot tub, outdoor movie theater with popcorn machine, wood-burning fire pit, and a full game deck — all on a secluded forested lot — is hard to find anywhere.
Inside, the Scandi-Boho design and thoughtfully stocked kitchen feel nothing like a generic rental. And the kids' bunk room with its play tent, curated toys, and built-in full beds means families with children don't have to compromise — every age group has their own space.
It's a property designed to make people want to stay in as much as go out.
