In winter, you’ll enjoy the comfort of underfloor heating, which switches to thermal cooling in summer. This is made possible by eco-efficient heat pumps. Thanks to self-generated electricity from wind—
—and solar energy, the entire thatched-roof village is already CO2-neutral.

-Built from the finest materials nature has to offer.-
At Reetdorf Geltinger Birk, you’ll experience the full natural essence of renewable resources. Ecologically valuable materials, deeply rooted in regional building traditions and safe for use, go hand in hand with exclusive living comfort.
Clinker bricks specially manufactured for Reetdorf adorn the exterior facades beneath the characteristic thatched roofs. The deliberate use of wood and other natural materials defines the aesthetic all the way into the high-quality interiors.
Nearly all the furniture is made of solid wood and was designed specifically for the Reetdorf. The same goes for all the textiles, blankets, bedding, and upholstery, which are made from pure virgin wool and cotton. Lime-based interior paints automatically regulate the humidity level in the air. The cosy warmth of the underfloor heating radiates from the ceramic floors. And if it ever gets too warm for you in the summer, the brine-based heating system cools the rooms down to comfortable temperatures.
The solid walls, made of mineral building materials such as expanded clay, cement, and sand, provide excellent thermal insulation and create an outstanding indoor climate. Metals such as Corten steel and raw steel, tastefully incorporated, create an architecturally appealing contrast with the elements built in the regional tradition. All flat roofs are greened and provide additional natural accents.
A sustainable energy supply that’s as good for the environment as it is for you.
All thatched-roof residences are consistently designed for the use of renewable energy. The comprehensive energy concept prioritises both the utmost comfort of our guests and the sustainable use of resources.
