There is a park adjacent to the yard which has concerts in the park featuring the local orchestra and local bands. There is also an Irish restaurant and bar adjacent to the property which you can occasionally enjoy music from the yard while sipping your own beverage. Music outdoors shut down by 10 pm and is usually Thursday through Sunday. The Rhode Island beaches are all between 20 minutes and an hour away and are spectacular. Block Island is a 50 minute ride to board the ferry.
