Visit the moose park or take the museum train Smalspåret to Västervik or Hultsfred, boarding at Spångenäs station, which you can reach on foot. The coastal town of Västervik has many restaurants and a beautiful archipelago where you can visit several islands, some islands have restaurants. Drive to Vimmerby and visit Astrid Lindgrens Värld. The area is great for hiking and berry picking. At nearby lake Gränssjön there is a child-friendly swimming area as well as fishing opportunities.
